Scott Embry’s Friday Narrogin Preview Posted on January 4, 2023January 4, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BOBSLED looks to have found his race. Brave thing to say about a 26 start maiden but having run third to Flying Ava and Miss Intention (subsequent C1 winner), fourth to Crystal’s Dream and subsequent winners Fries With That, Musqueam and Zooropa and then holding his own only 3.5L off Tallangatta last Saturday at Pinjarra Park this looks clearly his best chance yet. If Cassey Martinan can find the top he looks hard to run down. DEADLY AND FAST chased hard behind Kutsanya at Albany. ODDONEOUT has always promised to pinch one. MIGHTY MARVIN will see out the trip. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – BOBSLED WIN RACE 2 CERRIDWYN has her first start in WA for Michael Lane. Formerly trained by Mathew Ellerton she was last seen at Sandown Hillside in a 1300m maiden behind Chain in a race that contained 7 starters. There have been 43 runners out of the race producing 4 metro placings, 5 provincial wins and 11 provincial placings. Handy form for a maiden handicap at Narrogin. CRUCIAL METAL looks the logical danger. Over raced badly last start. Apprentice on and may look to jump and run. TINY SANTINI is suited in the handicap conditions dropping 2kg on recent Set Weight maidens. Has shown glimpses. KENDELS STORM was good fresh. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – CERRIDWYN WIN RACE 3 SALVADO was well thought of in the market on debut when finishing second behind impressive all the way winner Kellys Li Za Lu. Beat home Jag Supertrooper and is drawn to get a similar run here. JAG SUPERTROOPER hasn’t been far away in recent starts. Drawn barrier 1, Victoria Corver riding really well and in a race that has no real standouts. He represents one of multiple winning chances. PRINSESSA ANJA is double accepted during the week. Should they scratch and elect to race at Narrogin she would be right in the mix. OUR GIRL BORAM a mad inclusion at odds. Her grass runs were better than her dirt runs. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – SALVADO WIN RACE 4 ALMAHER MAN won a C1 1600 at Northam four starts back over subsequent winners Allaboutthecraic and Paigey’s Turn before heading to a 58+ 1850 at Mt Barker and proving too strong. Since then he has been there abouts in a 66+ eaten 4L and a 0MWLY 2200 when beaten 4.4L. Don’t think he really stays the full trip so coming back to 1720m is a blessing and back into a 52+ is excellent placement. Like this race for him. BLAISZEN CAZAH was the target of astute money last start when getting the job done. MIETTE STAR was in the same race and was only fair. BRAVE CONTENDER chased hard last start when fourth in town. This is easier. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – ALMAHER MAN WIN RACE 5 TRUEVINSKY was huge last start. Went to a 1900m 52+ and really ran them along, overall race time 3.5L faster than average. The winner of that race Duchees Demerit has won again since at Mt Barker and now Truevinsky drops from a 52+ back into a 46+. Looks a great chance to lead and win. GRACE DU ROI looks the danger on paper. Her recent staying runs in big fields have been sound. She’s got weight to carry and concedes a head start to Truevinsky but can sustain a run. WILD GALAH is rarely far from the winner in his races. DANCING JALAPENO thrived on the Narrogin style of racing. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – TRUEVINSKY WIN RACE 6 EXCELESTIAL didn’t beat a runner home at her Rob Witten debut, however, she was only 4L off The Lady Is A Vamp and 2L off Debit Credit who have since run second and third respectively in a 60+ Graduation at Ascot. This is the lowest graded race she has seen since 2020 (literally) and is a great piece of placement. TOMMY TO JACK is one of those horses who always bobs up when he is racing in the outer provincial circles of York or Narrogin. WEAPON OF CHOICE is a Laqdar Ramoly commodity and he’ll be coming hard late. NIAYCHI is always a blowout chance. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – EXCELESTIAL WIN RACE 7 THE FIBONACCI ran second in a Narrogin 46+ 1100m two starts ago behind the in form Lucrative Lucy. Stepped from 1100 to 1600 last start and set them alight. The first 1000m was run 9L faster than average and he was gasping for air on straightening. Back to Narrogin, back to 1100m. KELLYS LASSIE just can’t find the right barrier or race shape this preparation. She’s going well but struggling to pinch one. HAS NO FEAR was a good winner last start. If he reproduces he goes close again. HIGH PRECISION is a hard mare to follow but she’s going very well for Jayce Buckley. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – THE FIOBANACCI WIN RACE 8 AWESOME RIVAL looks to have a class edge on most rivals here. The query will be whether 1100m is too sharp for her first-up but her recent trial over 950m at Lark Hill suggests that she’ll be able to hold a position in running and she’ll be the strongest in the home straight. She can win better races than a 46+ at Narrogin. KELLY’S LI ZA LU was ridden to Narrogin perfection last start. When they roll, they’re hard to run down. See no reason why she won’t be on another hit and run mission. TINYNTUFF will get back but loves these circuits. SEND IT SON an improver. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – AWESOME RIVAL WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2 2,3,6,7 2,3,5,8 2,3 Market Market
