Michael Heaton’s Tuesday Ascot Preview Posted on November 6, 2023November 6, 2023 | Posted by Michael Heaton RACE 1 DREAMERS NEVER DIE was a debut winner as a 2YO back in May before starting favourite on a Saturday and getting held up at a crucial stage but still finishing just 2.5L off the talented Rope Them In. He had a very quiet trial recently when not asked for an effort and looks a nice type. GO GO GROMMET has plenty of speed when he can leave the gates cleanly and Madi Derrick’s claim brings him right into calculations. NO PEER resumes first up, no trial with W Pike aboard. 1000m is short of his best distance but keep safe. LEADING TADDY has been good at his last two but maps awkwardly from his outside draw. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – DREAMERS NEVER DIE WIN RACE 2 AUTUMN REBEL has been stiff not to win Saturday races at his last two starts and now drops back in grade to a maiden for the first time in his life. He ran all the fastest closing splits when missing by a nose first up and was in front after the post then got chopped out passing the 200m last start and came again late. Just needs luck from the draw. PROCESSIO probably should’ve won on debut. She got held up on straightening then motored to the line to miss narrowly. She steps from 1100m to 1500m second up but is drawn to get a soft run. SECRECY finished like a train first up, no trial at 1400m when going down by a nose and has now placed at his last four starts. BIG PLAYER loomed large and peaked on his run second-up then ran through the line strongly last start. Numbers: 7 – 13 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – AUTUMN REBEL WIN RACE 3 ECSTASY OF GOLD has always shown more ability than her 13-start C1 record suggests. Ran fifth to Super Smink in this year’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic and contested Saturday races at four of her first five starts. She got held up on straightening in this grade two starts back then ran all the fastest closing splits to win most recently. IMA WILD GIRLS’ best two career runs to date have been with CJP aboard and they reunite here. She was beaten just over 3L on a Saturday last start and now drops back into a C1. SAMARIA an improver getting a softer lead and being able to control proceedings. KIRALUI has continued to improve with each run. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – ECSTASY OF GOLD WIN RACE 4 RISEANFALL had the saddle slip on debut but still hit the line well to run third before finishing a nice second to The Boss Lady (already a previous winner), with 1.5L back to Cocktail Party (already a previous winner) at this track/grade/distance. She should lead and take beating. WEAPONS HOT bombed the start two starts back then made good late ground to run third before finding the top and giving a big sight last time out. If he can cross to the breeze from his outside draw he can be there for a fair way. LIFEISBUTADREAM makes her debut off the back of two very nice trials. She appears to have talent. CHER went close on debut after trialling up well. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – RISEANFALL WIN RACE 5 SPLIT JETE pulled hard but was still able to run subsequent Saturday winner Amber Glide to a half-length with 59kg at this track/grade/distance two starts ago then contested a 66+ last time out. He drops back in grade carrying 57.5kg, is already a previous winner in this class and maps to get a great run. CLIMB ON TOP made good late ground when running all the fastest closing splits first up and being beaten less than two lengths to the in-form Capricorn Man. He’ll appreciate the extra furlong. FOREVER DREAMING doesn’t win out of turn but has been racing consistently and maps nicely and might appreciate having a claim and dropping in weight for the first time in her career. CAPTAIN PLUTO looks a staying type and is a watch first up in WA. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – SPLIT JETE WIN RACE 6 DEVONIA resumed first up over 1800m in this grade and battled on well to only be beaten a couple of lengths. She might have to do a bit of work to get across with some speed drawn to her inside but she should be naturally improved and raced in Saturday grade at 7 of her previous 9 starts. MINGORA arguably should’ve won back-to-back races at Kalgoorlie 3 and 4 starts back and found the front by default before going down by a nose last time out. Pike sticks and she should be able to slot into a nice position with cover here. MERCURIUS was a surprise winner when leading all-the-way at this track/distance at $81 last start and has now won two of his past three. Steve Burton and Holly Watson have a terrific strike rate together. VEVINSKY an improver if ridden on-speed. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – DEVONIA EACH-WAY RACE 7 GOD’S GARDEN was tested over a staying journey for the first time last start and was desperately unlucky. She ran home in the fastest last 400m and was beaten just over a length despite getting blocked with nowhere to go for a period on straightening. She now drops back to a midweek and meet’s Toni’s Spirit 2kg better off. TONI’S SPIRIT was beaten only a half-length when third in the same race and is a progressive staying type. Her form is hard to fault. DUN WITH THE BLUES hasn’t raced for six weeks but is another stayer on the rise and has run home in the fastest last 1000m, 800m, 600m, 400m and 200m sectionals at each of her five starts this campaign. BIG SWOOP is a last-start winner when resuming off a 45-day freshen and maps to get a very similar run here. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – GOD’S GARDEN WIN RACE 8 SUPER SMINK is the real deal. The first horse to win the Magic Millions, Karrakatta and Sires’ Produce treble then resumed with a brilliant win in the Belgravia as a returning 3YO. She ran the fastest last 400m sectional of the day to win and has found the line better than anything in every race she’s ever contested. Class filly who looks the winner again. GENEROSITY reeled off some impressive late splits to win first up over 1000m then got held up at a crucial stage second up over 1200m. She steps to 1400m for the first time but looks a progressive type. CHOLLIMA will almost certainly have to settle last from her outside draw but she has an awesome turn of foot and the seven furlongs looks perfect for her. PARIS CALLING is a tough filly who can stick on if she can cross to the breeze. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – SUPER SMINK WIN Same Race Multi – SUPER SMINK (Top 1) + GENEROSITY (Top 4) RACE 9 BECALOTTI might need some luck to get across from her wide draw but she’s a tough mare and is brilliantly placed back into C3 grade and back to her winning distance. She was a Saturday winner five starts ago and ran Amber Glide and Playhouse Patron to only a half-length when third in 66+ grade just two starts ago. KINGS SICARIO is a handy type resuming. He was a booming winner first up last campaign before contesting Saturday races at his next five runs, including finishing two-lengths third to Rusty Dreams and Amber Glide. MOCHA DREAM was unlucky not to win at Geraldton first up then was able to get clear late and get the job done second up. He’s come back well. SCORPION RULER couldn’t have been much more impressive on debut when racing wide throughout and still running the fastest last 600m of the day to win. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 3 – 11 Suggested Bet – BECALOTTI WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,2,4,5 2,6,8 1,5 1,3,5,8,11 Market Market
