Harry Buchanan’s Sunday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on July 9, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 4 No. 7 Firehouse Mac and No. 4 Tears And Tanty This is the first of several who have opened a silly quote. The 7 may not win many but she’s raced much tougher opposition than this throughout her career and she isn’t exactly hopeless. If she stays close she will surprise these. As will the 4 if she can lead. Another who has faced better dogs and is suited to this track and trip. Don’t dismiss either dog. Race 7 No. 9 Bazinga Boy and No. 8 Turtle Fernando The 9 gets a run here and at $41, yes. He is worth a play. Has a superb track and trip record and can show early pace in his races. For a dog who can go sub 16, he’s a bet EW. The 8 has a tremendous box 8 record and he’s right where he wants to be. Good muster and can run time as well. Big show. Race 8 No. 4 Watanabe and No. 2 Stella Gundi Last chance for the 4 against these. The map looks ok and he can win if his best arrives with him. No excuses here. The 2 will look for the arm early and she will go low 22 if she gets it and be hard to catch. Well drawn and should figure. Race 9 No. 5 Kid Kimetto and No. 4 Close Contact The 5 took a poor option last start when it panned out for him. Smaller field helps immensely here and he can go close top 2. The 4 is resuming and he has raced well against good dogs previously. Will look for the fence behind the 2 who is bombproof early but he has the 8 to contend with and ducks off under pressure. Those two can allow the 4 and 5 runs they need up the back. Race 10 No. 5 Commander Mack Very, very stiff last time when mustering at a rate of knots only to hit a brick wall of dogs first turn. He will get room here with the dogs around him and he only needs first turn space to keep acceleration up and he’s awfully hard to stop at the big price. He’s a great play here a silly quote. EW all day. Race 11 No. 4 Wake Up Geoff Disappointed badly last start when walking out and never looking interested after that. He is better than that and while his best days are behind him, this is anything but hard. If he can’t lead throughout and win here then he probably struggles to get a win again any time soon. Now or never and his best would be now. Race 12 No. 8 Barefoot Wah Wah Could not be better boxed. Doesn’t spear out but has a lovely turn of foot off the mat and back to the straight start off this draw a huge plus. If she can use that muster to sweep up and grab the arm, it will be bye bye, not Wah Wah. Goes close here. Market Market
