Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview

Race 1

Difficult race to work out, not a quick front line early which could see AXLE ROCKS (5) potentially getting across with some resistance from FIREBALL FRIDAY (3) but she isn’t known for her early brilliance. SPINNER OF YARNS (7) and BEALAWYER (9) both racing well enough but it’s a difficult pair of draws from the distance. OURFIRSTIMPRESSION (8) is racing just soundly and faces the challenging draw. THUNDER WARRIOR (12) could get the speed required to bring him into it, has returned to some of his better form. BONPOPPY (11) will be better for the first up effort. BLIND EDITION (6) needs luck but going okay and VICIOUSLY UNKIND (4) could improve, best is good enough to be around the place. Headache areas doing form on this race.

Suggested Bet: THUNDER WARRIOR (12) each way.

Race 2

EN PARIANT SUR (1) gets right down in grade and gets the draw; good front running type and can see him bounce back to his best in this grade. METEOROID (10) is ideally drawn and will be better for fitness after the last run was coming in fresh and a better draw to work with. MACH FREEWAY (9) faces a difficult draw but is one of the few horses who can be put into it and the trial recently was encouraging. GALVINSTON JOHN (2) unlikely to cross and will make his job a lot harder. LUHRSY (4) might need the run but is a consistent type and the grade suits. KARAOKE STAR (8) finds this harder from the draw with STRIKE MASTER (6) mixing his form.

Suggested Bet: EN PARIANT SUR (1) to win.

Race 3

Speedy race. STATE MY CASE (4) was a nice effort on return and should bounce off that well and looks to settle close enough and use her high speed late, hard to hold out. INTO THE FUTURE (1) is ideally drawn and will lead and give them something to catch, distance suits. DEE JAYS BIG BOY (2) drawn well to be around the mark with SALSAWITHSIERRA (5) who is better suited to the distance but faces a tricky map. BLUE BLAZER (7) will be running on with the consistent placegetter SUGAR STREET (8) and SOUND WAVE (9) needs luck.

Tips: 4 1 7 2

Suggested Bet: INTO THE FUTURE/STATE MY CASE to Quinella.

Race 4

BEAT THE BANK (8) is suited in this grade and will be able to be put into the race and looks hard to hold out. BRONZED (2) is fitter for the first up effort and is a good front running type, big chance to be in front here and should improve numerically. POCKET THE CHANGE (1) loves to be on speed and will be around the mark. TRUE GRIT (3) has been thereabouts but still a step or two below his best, drawn to be close enough. BEYOND BLING (7) and TRAVELBAN (5) both capable of running on.

Suggested Bet: BEAT THE BANK (8) to win.

Race 5

PRINCESS DIAMOND (1) should bounce off the trial well and won in decent time, looks to have come back nicely and will be hard to beat in this. DOUGS LEGACY (12) is knocking on the door and has more experience which could persuade punters towards him even from the draw, will be a big player in this. CAMEL PLUS (5) has been consistent on the outer country circuit, faces a tricky draw but will have admirers. PLASTERED (7) was involved in a quickly run race last time out and will be fitter for the run, expecting further improvement with JACK CARROWACK (8) who was also in that race but faces that difficult draw. RAVENOUS ROMEO (9) has come back well but faces the river draw.

Tips: 1 12 7 5

Suggested Bet: DOUGS LEGACY (12) each way.

Race 6

GRAND COUTEAU (9) returns and is a nice mare, gets in well here and the inflated price (if there is one) will be due to being first up and facing a difficult draw, looks too classy for rivals even being first up. STELLA MAJOR (1) will get a cracking run in this and be in the money. CHERRY ON THE CAKE (2) looks the likely leader and won well last time out, should be further improved and loves being in front. MISS VINCENZA (10) will be suited in this grade, just needs some luck but she is versatile and has fitness on her side. RECOVER LOVER (6) is a novelty chance with HUNT THE MAGIC (8).

Tips: 9 1 10 2

Suggested Bet: GRAND COUTEAU (9) to win.

Race 7

WAR CRY (2) gets the good draw, and a good indicator is Emily Suvaljko taking the drive over PATRIARCH (8) who looks one of the main dangers off the back of an outstanding trial, galloped first up and gets the difficult draw. WAR CRY (2) was just okay in what was a frenetic run race, expected improvement from the draw. PATRIARCH (8) will run an improved race here, keep him safe. DEVIL IN DISGUISE (4) chased hard in a race behind Im Stealthy, has plenty of ability in his own right but is a little more inexperienced. AMERICAN FALCON (6) rises in grade after an easy kill and be a good test for him in this.

Suggested Bet: WAR CRY (2) to win.

Race 8

CHIEF COPY (5) won well last time out and no reason he can’t win again, can do his own dirty work in this grade and is in good form, hard to beat. ALWAYS CHANGIN (8) is a nice type who is going okay but trying to find his best form, his best is going to shake the life out of this. PAPPINBARRA LADY (1) nicely drawn and will be close enough in running and will be in money again. CANELO (2) was sound on return and drawn to be close enough and can get into the money. SHECANPLAY (7) and BULL SHARK BETTY (6) speedy customers who use that speed late.

Suggested Bet: CHIEF COPY (5) to win.
