Harry Buchanan’s Sunday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on July 2, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 4 No. 8 Gaggle Of Fun and No. 5 Chunky Ballerina Couple at EW odds here. The 8 clocks up start 100 here and has hit the frame almost 50% of his career. Boxed to do so again here in the consistent form he’s in. The 5 gets one more go after an average effort last week. Showed no interest at all early and kept that interest level low throughout. His best would be competitive here and his map isn’t horrible. If he turns up. Race 5 No. 8 Riley Magic Boxed to perfection. Wide running type who can spear out and go the low 16. Has been racing fair opposition lately and will track out the middle and stay clear and if she finds the arm she won’t be caught against these. Looks her best chance in a while. Race 7 No. 2 Turtle Fernando and No. 9 Bounce Li The 2 comes off an unlucky effort last week when stepping slowly but held up when looking for the inside run to recover. This is easier and only needs to improve the box manners to becomes force here. Keep a watch on the 9 if it gets a start. Dropping back in trip but very very capable and can win off an inside box. Race 8 No. 6 Jimali This is the best EW roughie all day. Ludicrous price about a dog who can not only place but can win with the right run. Did more than enough last start to warrant serious thought here and will be charging home for a kennel that’s airborne. Top 2 player here with NTD. Race 9 No. 7 Barefoot Wah Wah Racing well and gets her chance here after some good efforts and tougher company. Has a nice turn of foot off the mat and will look to sweep around early here and go for the arm. Will prove hard to catch if she gets it and priced to play. Race 10 No. 5 Watanabe and No. 2 Early Worm The 5 has form that doesn’t inspire, but don’t let that deter. Is capable of stepping and putting these away if his best arrives. Gets a fair grade drop as well so box his only issue. The 2 will play for luck but she continues to enjoy this track and trip. Looks for a run first turn and runs home hard. Place heavy for her. Race 11 No. 2 Truss Has been a bit of revelation lately the way he’s returned to form so quickly. Went from running last almost every week to running some of his career best races lately. The shorter trip the only doubt here but he rails hard and hits the line well and this is winnable. Don’t dismiss him while he’s in this mood against a field of dogs who lack intestinal strength. Race 12 No. 5 Mick The Magpie The race previous had some below average types, well this one is only a little better which is why the 5 only has to drop to the fence early and get the run first turn. The only dog he can’t catch is the 7 if he leads. The rest he can run over if he’s close. A clear run will see him in the finish. Market Market
