Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on July 1, 2023July 1, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 3 No. 2 Blessed Doll She can stay, there is no doubt about that. Coming off another strong win when descending from midfield to run over Crypto Monelli late. Time was steady But track wasn’t fast. Well boxed to land close and will again assert her strength late in the race. Shouldn’t miss the frame. Race 5 No. 8 King Tommy and No. 4 Storm Alert Surprised the 8 is not much shorter after his dominant win over the 600 last start. The drop back in distance is ideal, especially the way the map reads to get a lovely drag across from the 7. Goes very close here. A small spec on the 4 each way. No luck at all last start and was a strong winner prior. Promising and can figure top two with a little luck. Gets a small save. Race 6 No. 6 West On Gecko and No. 8 Inside Scoop The 6 has very steady form lately, but no doubting the engine under the hood. Slow starts have been very costly his last couple and can improve with the vacant box underneath. Will need to however. The 8 is a chance here at odds. A strong type who looks suited from the draw and can wind up with a big middle and last section. A top two player at the least at the big quote. Small spec each way for him. Race 7 No. 2 Dusty Deluxe and No. 4 West On Nugget The 2 gets a perfect drag into this behind the fast beginning red. Winds up very strongly and the small field suits and his price to play. Really should not miss top 2. Giving the 4 one more chance. His box manners have also let him down in recent starts and the small field gives him a chance to land in a spot. Has a booming last section when he winds up top and a top 2 player if the breaks go his way. Race 8 No. 2 Curates Egg Cannot believe this 2 is not an outright favourite after a desperate last start performance when he simply should’ve won. Made up ridiculous ground after multiple checks to go under by less than the length on the line. Back to a better draw here and only has to get half a look to put these away quickly. Whilst he is the best bet we are still getting a top 2 price to play as a contingency. Should be winning though with any luck at all. Race 9 No. 8 Couch Surfer Another who I thought would be pushing for favouritism here after 2 strong efforts. Made big ground again last start in the Paradise Street final and back to a small field here right up his alley. Only has to land remotely close to be the one they all have to hold out late. Looks ready now THE MEADOWS Race 3 No. 3 Kanji Tank Slightly disappointing last start when landing close enough to be in the finish. Did not quite close out his race, but willing to give him another chance here. Has a solid middle and last section and will look ominous if he’s close to the leaders turning. One more go for him. Race 7 No. 6 Wrangler Jane Continues to run her big races at the odds at this track she enjoys. Stuck on well behind Jigglypuff last week and he’s the frame more often than not over this track and trip. Will again be a big price and worth a top 2 spec at the odds. Watch for her late. Race 8 No. 3 Fred Rose Enigmatic, but capable galloper, who isn’t badly drawn here. Can reel off strong middle sections that he sustains to the line, and does his best work when there are no dogs around him. If he can insert himself into the race up the back, he will almost certainly be in the finish. Big price for a dog who can run time. Each way at the very least. Race 9 No. 3 Gabby’s Gyros She took forever and a day to get into the race last week from the outside draw. A move closer to the fence here should see her hopefully land much closer, and she can certainly run time when she gets a look at the arm. Has a strong form line behind good dogs and will go close here with any sort of luck early. Race 11 No. 2 Tan and Black Drawn to give this a massive shake with his ultra consistent record at the track and trip. Has a booming run home when clear and boxed to get into this much sooner against this easier company. Will look ominous if he’s close turning and will take a lot of stopping. WENTWORTH PARK Race 2 No. 4 Crackerjack Bull Former Victorian having his first start in New South Wales for the new kennel. Has one serious motor and has raced much better dogs than this in recent times. Has surely seen the track and only has to offset the draw on his first up assignment here to be a player and advance through to the final. Race 7 No. 7 Starline Express Has a blistering turn a foot off the mat and he’s rarely lead in his races. Whilst the trip sees him right out, he should set up an almighty lead here, which will prove very hard to run down regardless of how quickly he stops. Has won here a couple of times already and fitness his only issue. Race 9 No. 7 Street Of Dreams Coming out of a string of very tough races back to a track he excels at. Small field perfect as he can take a little bit to wind up but once he does with clear running, he is very hard to hold out. Have some fast wins here and is well drawn with a vacant box inside and a sharp fence crasher inside that. Will get his chance. Top 2 player here Race 10 No. 1 Crackerjack Boom Another Victorian having his first start for the new kennel. This bloke actually has some early toe and is coming out of a Bendigo race won by Baby Jaycee. That’s very strong form in a race like this and perfectly drawn for his first up assignment and will look the winner if he holds the arm first turn. Good show here. Market Market
