Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on July 29, 2023July 29, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 1 No. 3 Mongolian Tiger Not sure there are any excuses left for this dog. Incredibly still a maiden after 38 starts which is surprising considering the finish he has on him. This is as easy as it gets and the draw might see him land closer for at least a place heavy play. All depends how far away he lets them get. Race 2 No. 1 Bo Cruz and No. 6 Inside Scoop The 1 will again show his good early dash here off the inside and should lead with little trouble. It’s the last bit that continues to test him and he isn’t getting under that 30 seconds mark on the arm which is a concern. Will look the winner at some stage. The 6 is the descender here. Drops a big middle and last section and offsetting the box his sole task here. If he does that and lands close, it’s over. Race 3 No. 7 Lady Dior and No. 1 Indy Go Ruby Was a painful 30 seconds watching the 7 last week. Simply couldn’t get the run she wanted early enough and left herself a huge task yet still rocketed home in 11.27 for 4th going 2/10ths faster on the way home than the winner. She is airborne make no mistake about that. Her lack of early dash is the issue but this map isn’t that bad and if they let her run and give her a look to be within striking range up the back, then I don’t care who she’s chasing. She will get them. Priced to go place heavy again and simply has to be a bet on that basis. First turn decides the outcome for her. The 1 could hold the arm here if she doesn’t let the 3 cross. Her best draw in a few runs now and will give a sight off the rails. Sticks on well. Small save EW but chips in the 7 on the place heavy go. Race 5 No. 6 Super Charge and No. 2 Columbus Monelli The 6 is a very silly price here for a dog who doesn’t need a lot to go his way up the back to be a threat. Will make his run through the middle and can hit the frame again here. As can the 2 who will be a better show now. Kennel change took immediate effect with a good effort last week and drawn to figure again here. Race 6 No. 8 Disco Trixie and No. 6 Acing Kuna Good race. If the 1 leads and gets away it’s curtains. However the 8 will surprise here. She wandered around a little at her first go over the 600 and will Improve a stack here. Armed with a big finish, she is a good top two spec. The 6 is racing super at the moment and while I’d like to see her step up to the staying trip, she will grind away after making her fast middle section run here. Another who could hit top two at a good price. Race 7 No. 5 King Tommy and No. 4 Bad Boy Jagger A race with as many questions as runners. The 5 will go fast and find the top here. It’s then a simple matter of running the trip without needing to stop at the bowser on the way. I think he will and his 600 runs indicate as much. The disrespect for the 4 is surprising. Won at any old price last week but the small field and the question over some of these staying is enough to play him top two here. Will keep descending late. Race 8 No. 2 Bang and No. 5 Sher Zany Pure speculation here a monster odds. The 2 needs the arm. However this old VIC from of this draw wouldn’t see him $41 and if happened to step and lead, he won’t give it up easy. The 5 is a stayer but has proven he can sprint before. A few dogs wanting the arm here means he will pass those who turn it up when they don’t get it. Storms into this late with any luck. Place heavy for him. Race 9 No. 4 Blessed Doll She’s the one we know can stay. Put out of business early last start but the small field suits better here and she won’t get so far back. Questions over the 8 and 6 staying as both have shown the last bit can test and would need big leads. The 2 can’t win and the 1 will grind away late and is strong but hasn’t show up yet. The 4s race to lose and just needs to roll through her little flat spot with a lap to go and she will go close. THE MEADOWS Race 3 No. 2 Tan And Black Disappointed a little last week but it was a harder race. Boxed to go well here and can land closer this time and is armed with a good last section over the trip. This is his chance. Race 4 No. 7 Rhino Bale and No. 6 Zipping Crusader Final here with a few hopes. The 7 is one of the stronger types and he can actually step. Does lack a little dash but gets back into his work through the middle and will be hard to hold off here at a good price. As will the 6 who is the only other run on component of the race. Made up a tremendous ground in his heat to just go under and can hit the frame at odds. Race 5 No. 3 Lornett Express and No. 8 Trending Yale Another final and the 3 is a huge show here if he repeats his heat. Showed dazzling dash across the face of the field off a wide box and he is very hard to catch over this trip with his solid 600m form. Looks to lead all the way again. The 8 will mind her own business out here and she can make ground from anywhere. A few of these go fast early so she can stoke up behind then and hit the line for a place heavy go. Strong last section. Race 6 No. 4 Jarick Bale Grand campaigner who arguably should have won his last two. Box is ok here and he will start his run with a lap to go and keeps on coming. Deserves a break through again and will look ominous if his last two runs are anything to go by. Big show. Race 7 No. 2 Minter Frost Don’t understand the price here. Yachi Bale couldn’t run him down last start and he’s drawn to land prominent again. Runs time and the trip is his best distance. Does need to navigate a passage around the red but he will give a great sight here and is a huge quote to hit top two. Race 8 No. 4 Zippy Tesla and No. 2 Kai Bale The 4 is ready and this is his track. Will look to get in to the fence first turn then start that familiar where his change of gears has won him 17 races. Absurd price here at double figures. Hits the frame with any luck at all. The 2 will go well again and is drawn to land handy. Racing in career best form and will not miss the frame if he settles top 3-4 up the back. Keen to play Zippy though EW. Race 10 No. 4 Shima Stella She can surprise here. Has enormous talent but can take a bit to get where she wants to be. Sound run behind El Dorado last week and will give a similar sight here if she can offset this box. Goes well track and trip and looks ready now. WENTWORTH PARK Race 4 No. 1 If You Say He might be a price but done ignore him. He has some talent this dog. Can reel off sustained sections and will come from anywhere to do it. Looking for this trip now and while this is a tougher assignment than what he’s been up against, he can stun these with the right run. Top two player at the odds. Race 5 No. 4 Impress Dressel Trained by one of the best ever to put a lead on a dog. Coming off Grafton runs but were in good company and has been here plenty before. Goes fast off the mat and if he can push off the middle box with clear air, they will know he’s there. Good EW show here. Race 6 No. 6 Copious and No. 8 Cumbria Days The 6 was superb again last week. Unlucky to have the fav come out running but stuck on well and can run another big race. Strong dog who handles all boxes. The 8 is well drawn and will muster quickly out wide here. Has a good back section and if he got a look early up the back he could run into this and be there at the end. Save there. Market Market
