Group G – Sweden v Italy

Sweden suffered a scare before coming from behind to beat South Africa 2-1 in their opener. Defender Amanda Ilestedt popped up with the winner and will be part of an unchanged backline. The Scandanavians have won 10 of the 13 previous meetings with Italy and are expected to make it two wins from two.

Italy left it late to see of Argentina, with Cristiana Girelli netting the only goal of on 87 minutes. Girelli and Giada Greggi are two players who could be promoted to the starting line up have made an impact off the bench. Italy are likely to defend deep and rely on counter attacks against a fancied opponent.

Group F – France v Brazil

France stumbled to a draw in their opening fixture and will need to improve against South American opposition. Elisa De Almeida is expected to be fit having missed the Jamaica game through injury, but Selma Bacha is less likely to feature. Winger Kenza Dali could come into the side.

Brazil were ruthless, putting four goals past Panama without reply. Ary Borges hit the headlines with a hat-trick and she could be joined in the starting line up by Barcelona star Geyse. Should coach Pia Sundhage opt to stick with a winning formula, the legendary Marta will again have to make do with a bit part role.

Group F – Panama v Jamaica

Panama have work to do having been soundly beaten 4-0 by Brazil. Karla Riley cut an isolated figure in that game so could be joined up front by Riley Tanner if coach Ignacio Quintana opts for a more attacking approach. Worryingly, Panama have shipped 16 goals without reply in their last three outings.

Jamaica go into the game with their star player Khadija Shaw who was sent off against France. The Reggae Girlz held firm to claim an important point. Paige Bailey-Gayle could come into the starting line-up, while the backline should remain unchanged having kept a clean sheet last time out.
