Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on September 2, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 2 No. 3 Vander Harley Strong effort last week when working home well for 2nd and while beaten a margin, she is capable of landing closer and getting into this. Boxed well and ready to be in the finish again. EW go for her. Race 3 No. 2 Sher Zany Monster overs here for mine. He’s racing better than he ever has since arriving here. Corner start not ideal but if he can step and show up with a forward spot, he will give these a stack to think about late. Good dog who can figure at the quote. EW player for sure. Race 4 No. 8 Runaway To Mars Love his draw here with two steady box dogs inside him. This could get messy on the inside early here and he just needs to mind his business and hold a high line out wide to the first turn. If he leads or lands close, it’s on here. He can do that so gets a go at the EW quote. Race 5 No. 3 Hinto Airborne!! Better draw this time and his last few have been mighty. Fav hard to stop but this bloke only has to find his spot into the back and he won’t be missing the frame here. EW bet of the night and place heavy bird here. Race 6 No. 8 Warm Regards Promising staying type who won well at Northam last time and can bring that here to Cannington. Will get a nice run to the first turn and she can land close. Showed she has staying strength and while this is hard again, she gives every indication she will handle the rise in company. EW for her as well. Race 8 No. 8 Raised Superb performance last week when giving nothing else a chance and unleashing that big motor to score easily over this trip. Can handle the draw and only has to repeat and he wins. Will improve again on the clock as well. Race 9 No. 6 Disco Trixie Frustrating is putting it mildly here. She is her own worst enemy in her races with her clumsy and slow starts but she has a big middle section and bigger last section and not badly drawn here. Only needs a look to win and can hit top 2 for a collect. Patience is wearing thin and must produce. Race 11 No. 8 Fabs Max Potato May need this run but don’t doubt his ability to descend in a race late. Former VIC having his first run here and will improve on whatever he does here. Will smash the line hard and while he doesn’t win many, he will be suited over here and will win his share of races. Race 12 No. 4 Notorious Harada and No. 7 All Spiked up The 4 rocketed out last start to give nothing else a chance. Has a great record track and trip and box manners are superb most days. The 7 will enjoy a drop back in distance and if the breaks come up the back, he will drop on these late for a place heavy play. THE MEADOWS Race 4 No. 7 Trending Yale Strong win last time running over a smart field and steps up to the middle trip again. Can handle this box and has a good record track and trip. Just needs a good step and to not get too far back and she can finish top 2 for the collect. Race 5 No. 6 Bruce’s Ruslie Form isn’t flash but he’s better than that. More of a staying type but can sprint when he gets up there early. Worth a spec at the EW odds. Nothing silly though. Race 6 No. 1 Gary Stun On and No. 7 Money Owes The 1 disappointed badly last time when never getting into it. Will go better off the box here and can be hard to catch when he leads. Don’t dismiss the 7 who is enigmatic but very fast. Has a few tricks but when he’s on, he can run the clock into the ground. Start critical for him but can figure. Race 7 No. 2 Heffernan Bale This easier than recent starts and gets a good draw as well. Doesn’t win often here but raced better dogs and can land close and he sticks on well in his races. He’s a threat this time. Race 8 No. 3 Moraine Suzie Superb effort in the Speedstar and suited back to full field racing as she likes dogs to chase down. Seems to have found her best and nothing stronger in this outside of the fav. EW bird here and will storm home. Race 9 No. 2 Serena Bale Strong sprinter who will enjoy slightly easier company here than last week. Has a super record track and trip and can step well to land close here and she keeps finding the line. Top 2 player. WENTWORTH PARK Race 8 No. 2 Rampani and No. 1 Rothwell Chunk The 2 disappointed last time when he never came on as expected. Will again show speed and if he can land the arm, they won’t catch him this time. The 1 will be hard to stop. He can handle the inside even though he likes to use the track and he will be strong late. Don’t ignore him. Race 9 No. 8 Kingsbrae Demon Has a dazzling turn of foot off the mat and will accelerate quickly here to look for the front. Is getting stronger and while the last bit still tests, he could pinch a break go all the way here. Race 5 No. 7 Downtown Zipper Talented and very strong dog whose record here doesn’t inspire but this is his chance. Can drop a big middle section and bigger last section and if he’s close, they won’t hold him out. Great EW bet in this. Market Market
