Harry Buchanan’s Friday Greyhound Best Bets

CANNINGTON

Race 2 No. 2 Geoff Woke Up

He was good last time when not quite crossing the red but sticking on well. Faces a similar task here but a repeat will see him go close and represents EW value.

Race 3 No. 2 Naval Guard

Just needs to hold an early spot and if he does cross the red, then it’s over. Good run last time when coming from midfield to run 2nd after missing the start then being strung up momentarily. Can atone here with a better step.

Race 4 No. 1 After Show

She’s boxed to go seriously close here. Early burn and runs times on the arm and there should be little to no challenges for the lead here. That then makes her awfully hard to catch.

Race 6 No. 7 Extreme Mac and No. 5 Litchfield

The last chance brigade out in force here. The 7 disappointed badly on Sunday. Never looked like the same dog we saw the start prior. Gets one last chance seeing she is back up to 600 but needs to produce. Same applies to the 5 who is looking likely but dropping flat spots and giving up positions easily. The small field will give her every chance now and she too must do something here.

Race 8 No. 1 Shian Pedro and No. 3 Big If

He’s a smoky here the red. Boxed to land closer than usual, he can reel off some strong sections when he gets room to operate. EW all day here. Look for the 3 to try for the arm. He missed it last start which isn’t really like him so expect a turn around in box manners. Can be hard to catch when he’s on. EW saver there.

Race 9 No. 4 Wild Ollie

Middle boxes spot on for this dog. Can step and show good dash early and when he leads over this trip he’s very hard to mow down. Has already met with strong support and only has to get the start right. If he leads, he wins.

Race 10 No. 1 Amarillo Drive and No. 6 Moment To Boogie

The 1 has a luxury map here on the fence with the wide running types outside her. That means we could finally see her back to her best. She will get every chance here. Giving old mate in 6 one more go as well as he’s got more than he’s shown his last few. Needs to improve those box manners again but he is capable. Can win with a spear out.

Race 12 No. 8 Notorious Harada and No. 1 All Spiked Up

Speaking of spear out, the 8 could just rush straight over here and put these away. Has almost faultless box manners as displayed her last two in fine style. Will go fast again. The 1 continues to frustrate and run on but he needs to get into sooner. Small field helps here and don’t be stunned if he goes fast up the back and puts himself in a striking spot to hit top 2.
