Chris Nelson’s Saturday Rosehill Preview Posted on June 29, 2023June 30, 2023 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 1 Interesting runner here is the international CHORLTON LANE who has only had two starts (spaced) in the UK for a dominant win & close up 2nd. Jump outs down south have been good by all reports & if not a big drifter I’m happy to take the punt as I can poke holes in the opposition & here I go! PLUNDERING has plenty of weight, MASTER SHOWMAN & POWERFUL PEG are competitive at midweek level, may struggle here though. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics RACE 2 Map suggests SEMANA should be able to scoot across from the outside alley & take up a prominent spot most likely in front. She’s a super consistent filly taking on the older mares here however that’s nothing new for her & the Dylan Gibbons claim is a big help. SWEET MERCY comes out of midway grade however is racing well, tardy & simply too far back last start before making ground. Expect improvement from MASCARET at start number two in Australia. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet: SEMANA TO WIN RACE 3 GRACILISTYLA can be a hard one to catch having won 2 from 15 however he looks well placed to make it 3 here. Held up resuming before finishing on late he then just gave away far too much start second up dropping back in trip running home well late. Now to 1500m he should prove hard to beat even with the big weight. RESONATOR has been kept fresh off the last start win, with the claim & if in the mood can figure in the finish. HELL HATH NO FURY can run into the placings. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet: GRACILISTYLA TO WIN RACE 4 Hoping we get a couple of scratchings in the Midway which will allow MISS FABERGE to sneak into the field. Yes, she only has the one win to her credit however she’s rarely far away which is certainly the case of late having placed her past three outings the latest here in this grade. DIMAGGIO should be ready to fire third up, latest was good & should land a gun run. Can entertain nos.4, 5 & 13 however they will need luck from wide gates. Numbers: 18 – 1 – 13 – 4 Suggested Bet: MISS FABERGE TO WIN (small bet) RACE 5 Good looking Highway where we have a couple of unbeaten gallopers resuming from breaks. I’m firmly in the corner of MOGO MAGIC who has won his 3 outings to date by a cumulative 12.5 lengths & his lead up Goulburn trial win was very impressive by 5.5 lengths! Wide gate for EMPEROR who has been flying in Queensland, just needs to get across or find cover. REMEMBER JACK sat wide & got the job done at Muswellbrook two back, faces the same task today from the car park draw. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet: MOGO MAGIC TO WIN RACE 6 HI DUBAI rises in grade today coming out of a midweek BM64 however she does have a few positives as well. Fitter second up, a perfect gate where Zac Lloyd will have options & she’s down 5.5kg in weight meeting the horse who just held on to beat her last start (BUBBA’S BAY) 2.5kg better off. The consistent TINTOOKIE will need luck however is extremely consistent. At good odds VEGAS RAIDER can run into a placing without surprising. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet: HI DUBAI TO WIN RACE 7 Last start winner FAWKNER PARK again faces up against NAVAL COLLEGE & MIRACLE SPIN who ran the placings behind him that day here a fortnight back. At the weights he meets NAVAL COLLEGE better off & MIRACLE SPIN worse for holding them at bay by just over half a length. Loved the way he found the line in that race coming clear of the other two & note he won his only start at this longer trip in Ireland by over 6 lengths, he’ll do me! Must include MOSTLY CLOUDY who should be ready to go third run back stepping up in trip. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet: FAWKNER PARK TO WIN RACE 8 Surely BAZOOKA is over the odds here? He’s run well both outings this prep & didn’t have the clearest of runs home the latest behind Democracy Manifest in stronger company. Yes, he may be looking for further however three weeks between runs helps & he can park closer from the good draw. Look out late, he’ll be closing! KIBOU was good fresh off the 280+ day break, fitter yes however does rise 400m? VIENNA PRINCESS & LOGAN STREET LION in the mix. Numbers: 11 – 5 – 13 – 2 Suggested Bet: BAZOOKA EACH-WAY (small bet) RACE 9 Should BAZOOKA go around here & not the previous (refer comments R8) I’m on him. If not, the visiting Victorian BRAYDEN STAR looks the toughest to beat. Strong late two back, run down the latest both over the mile, he looks well placed at 1800m with a touch of luck from the rough draw. Big market watch SPECIAL ENVOY who is in good hands & has trialled well, 1800m first up should suit based on his form back home. Numbers: 16 – 1 – 6 – 13 Suggested Bet: BAZOOKA/BRAYDEN STAR RACE 10 Thought EITHER OAR was terrific here last start setting a slick tempo & holding on to beat all bar Vienna Princess who certainly had the race set up for her. She’s very consistent, likes this track & trip & drops a little in weight. WINDSHADOW is promising & in the right hands, even fitter third run back having won the latest from the front with the big weight. COSMIC MINERVA hit the line well first up & strips fitter. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics Market Market
