Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on August 11, 2016August 15, 2016 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: TABTOUCH 3YO FILLIES MS PACE SHEER ROCKNROLL (2) hasn’t been racing at her top and knocked up when she led and finished 5th in a similar field two starts back. She looked sharper in her last win in easier company when leading throughout in 1.56.0 and will be hard to run down tonight. BETTOR BOA (12) was rated the 2nd best filly in the state after the Oaks and has had a short break. THE SHADOW KNOWS (1) and EYES ON THE MONEY (10) aren’t proven in this company and are relatively inexperienced but should enjoy nice runs and can be placed. Tips: 2 12 1 10 Suggested Bet: SHEER ROCKNROLL (2) to win. Race 2: MCINERNEY FORD MARES MS PACE TYPHOON TAN (12) has been racing consistently and broke through for a deserved victory when she faced the breeze at beat a similar field last week. She goes to the back line tonight but there was a lot to like about her last effort. FOREVER REMEMBERED (2) didn’t have much luck when down the track in that race and can improve from this draw. HIGHVIEW JACKIE (3) was only 4.9m from TYPHOON TAN (12) in the same race and should be thereabouts again. ITS MY LUCKNOW (1) is only a C1 but is racing well and has the draw. Tips: 12 2 3 1 Suggested Bet: TYPHOON TAN (12) each way. Race 3: ROSS NORTH HOMES MS PACE OUT BACK JOE (1) has led at his past two and been found wanting late. He may decide to sit on ZNANA (2) tonight and he can show that he is better suited with a sit. ZNANA (2) led at his last start but over raced and knocked up. He will be better suited over the shorter journey and having Gary Hall Jnr in the cart. WALTER JAMES (10) has been racing in a lot stronger company and will be hard to hold out with luck in running. CYCLONE MITCH (4) has terrible numerical form but can improve in this moderate field. Tips: 1 2 10 4 Suggested Bet: OUT BACK JOE (1) each way. Race 4: SLATER GARTRELL SPORTS THE SCHRADER QUALIFYING HEAT 2 CHAR DO NEIGH (7) has won four of his five WA starts and led all the way for a very comfortable win last week. He is drawn wide and this is a significant rise in class but has been impressive thus far. IDEAL JUSTICE (6) resumed from a spell with a close 2nd to Billies A Star. He had every chance in that race but they did run 1.55.6 for the 2130 and his fitness will be improved. NORTHERN ASSASSIN (1) has been racing well without winning this campaign but should be right in this from the pole. JAMBIANI (3) could win a race like this if he did find the front. Tips: 7 6 1 3 Suggested Bet: NORTHERN ASSASSIN (1) each way. Race 5: RETRAVISION MS PACE ANOTHER VINNIE (2) hasn’t looked comfortable and has done things wrong at his last two starts. His previous form was first class and he will be extremely hard to beat if he brings his A game. COMMANDER CHAPEL (7) has been placed at three of his four starts since changing stables and should be in the finish. IMA TRAGEDY (4) had all the favours but was impressive in winning in 1.53.8 at his last start and must be considered. HUGH VICTOR (1) isn’t at his best but could be a big improver from the pole. Tips: 2 7 4 1 Suggested Bet: ANOTHER VINNIE (2) to win. Race 6: HI TEMP SERVICES MS PACE DREDLOCK ROCKSTAR (2) led throughout from this draw to win a similar event in 1.53.9 in April. He resumes from a short break and should run a race if he holds up or sits on the pace. RICIMER (5) has won his last five in impressive fashion and will be hard to run down if he finds the top again. WAYLADE (9) ran a great 2nd to Our Jimmy Johnstone and is always thereabouts. BETTORS FIRE (11) is probably the best horse in the race and must be considered despite being first up from the widest draw. Tips: 2 5 9 11 Suggested Bet: DREDLOCK ROCKSTAR (2) to win. Race 7: MARATHON HANDICAP SS PACE OUR SKY MAJOR (12) disappointed at his first two WA starts but ran a great 2nd to NAUGHTY MARAVU (10) before impressively winning a mobile event. He looks well suited by the 3309m journey and should be hard to beat. NAUGHTY MARAVU (10) backed up his good win with a solid 2nd off a 40m handicap and is a definite hope. PHOENIX WARRIOR (14) is another who will be suited by the distance and should be thereabouts. OUR JERICHO (8) was terrible last start but can bounce back. Tips: 12 10 14 8 Suggested Bet: OUR SKY MAJOR (12) to win. Race 8: ABBOTT & CO PRINTERS MS PACE SPECTACTULAR (9) is a highly talented but injury plagued pacer who resumes here from an enforced break without a trial. He clearly has the ability to win this event so monitor the betting. BUNGALOW BILL (11) is racing well and wasn’t disgraced when finishing midfield last start and is right in this despite the wide draw. TOMMY BE GOOD (1) ran a nice 2nd in a recent Byford trial and can make his presence felt from the draw. CALAIS (3) led and ran 4th over the staying trip last start and will appreciate the sprint distance tonight. Tips: 9 11 1 3 Suggested Bet: TOMMY BE GOOD (1) each way. Race 9: WESTSIDE AUTO WHOLESALE MS PACE THE ODD LOVER (8) is a richly talented pacer who has finished 2nd at his past two starts but has been impressive in defeat. He has faced the breeze outside of Galactic Star and American boy and pushed those pacers and is the one to beat. GAZ WANNABET (5) is racing well and has the barrier advantage over his main rival and looks the other winning hope. SPENDTHELOT (3) and RIGHT HAND (1) don’t have the class of the other pair but can be in the money from their good draws. Tips: 8 5 3 1 Suggested Bet: THE ODD LOVER (8) to win. Race 10: ALLTOOLS 3YO WESTBRED MS PACE BEWARE OF DARKNESS (7) faced the breeze and won his last start in fair time and that form reads well for this very moderate affair and he can overcome the wide draw. PARISIAN PARTYGIRL (5) is a consistent type with gate speed and she will give them something to catch if she finds the front. CLARES FOOL (2) has finished within 6m of the winner at his past four starts and should be thereabouts again. RICH CRANLEIGH (1) looks a place chance from the pole. Tips: 7 5 2 1 Suggested Bet: BEWARE OF DARKNESS (7) to win. Bet Now
