Flemington Preview – 12 March Posted on March 11, 2016March 11, 2016 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Tips RACE 2 NO.5 SEABURGE Progressive youngster SEABURGE looks well placed to claim a feature win when he runs in the Sires Produce Stakes (1400m). The son of Sebring was impressive winning on debut over 1200 metres at Pakenham on January 21 before a closing second behind REVOLVING DOOR over 1300 metres at Sandown on February 24. He looks ready for this distance and should race closer to the speed from an inside draw. SEABURGE has shown good strength in both runs to date which should stand him in good stead for this longer journey. Mark Zahra, fresh from his Group One winning ride aboard PALANTINO in last week’s Australian Guineas, takes the mount and SEABURGE should run well again. RACE 3 NO.9 SUPER CASH The Goodwood Racecourse Trophy (1100m) looks a very competitive race with some promising three year old sprinters and SUPER CASH is one of those promising types that looks a terrific each way gamble in this race. The Andrew Noblet trained filly resumed from a spell with a closing third behind the exciting ALMIGHTY GIRL in the Typhoon Tracy Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on February 26. She will be improved by that outing, wears blinkers for the first time and has been placed down the Flemington straight track over 1100 metres behind PETITS FILOUS, which is high quality sprinting form. In-form jockey Luke Currie retains the ride and SUPER CASH represents a good value bet. RACE 4 NO.2 STRATUM STAR The Blamey Stakes (1600m) has always looked the perfect race for STRATUM STAR who lines up in this race in good form and appeals as the best bet of the day. The four year old has improved at both runs this campaign which includes his last start second behind TURN ME LOOSE in the Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 27. The extra distance of this race holds no fears and he is drawn for a sweet run which all adds up to STRATUM STAR bouncing back to winning form. Bet Now
