Deane’s Flemington Saturday Best Bets Posted on December 9, 2016December 12, 2016 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Preview RACE 3 NO. 8 JENNIO JENNIO looks a terrific each way chance when she contests the Fillies and Mares Benchmark 84 Handicap (1700m). The Darren Weir trained mare ran very well in a high pressure race when finishing 2nd behind GET THE PICTURE over 2040 metres at Moonee Valley on November 18. That looks a reasonable form reference for this race and she drops 5kg, which is significant. She is drawn for a cheap run and JENNIO looks well suited to run another bold race. RACE 5 NO. 2 CHARLEVOIX CHARLEVOIX looks the standout bet of the day when he runs in the Benchmark 78 Handicap (2500m). The four year old is a progressive stayer that showed his talent with a win in the Galilee Series Final (2400m) at Sandown last April. He will be much fitter for two runs this campaign which includes his brave 2nd behind SHIKARPOUR over 2300 metres at Ballarat on November 16. That was his first run in nearly six weeks so he will have derived great benefit from that run and looks to have more upside than his rivals. It’s the right race for CHARLEVOIX and he represents the best bet of the day. SuperPick - RACE 5 NO. 2 CHARLEVOIX - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) RACE 8 NO. 8 DODGING BULLETS DODGING BULLETS is racing his way into winning form and looks well placed when he runs in the Benchmark 84 Handicap (1600m). The five year old should now be at peak fitness following three runs back from a spell and caught the eye with his 4th behind JUDGES in the Port Fairy Cup (1400m) at Warrnambool on December 1. He will relish a step up in distance and is a Flemington winner over 1600 metres. Whilst he has drawn the outside barrier, he has the tactical speed to roll forward and make his own luck which could prove the winning move; sure to run well again. Bet Now
