RACE 1 No. 2 Irish Optimism

Chris Waller trained stayer who appears to have found the perfect race. Liked the way he hit the line at the Gold Coast last start running into third placing late. His closing sectionals were similar to his winning stablemate Exoteric who is missing from this race whilst the second placed runner that day Xebec goes around again 2kg worse off at the weights for only a half-length margin.

RACE 7 No. 6 Mogador

Recent addition to the Heinrich/Rodgers stable who put in a cracking effort at Doomben first up coming from last to pass every runner bar the very much in-form and since won again Mr Marbellouz. Stepped up in grade he was then far from disgraced in the Listed Goldmarket at the Gold Coast and now drops back to Class 3 grade! Drawn well should go very close.

RACE 8 No. 7 Aqua Vite

Real model of consistency this one who only missed a placing once in 9 outings last prep (ran 4th) which included 3 wins. Kicked off his latest campaign with a late charging 3rd in the Goldmarket when not gaining the clearest of paths late in the race. Maps to land a good spot and will prove even harder to hold out up to the 1350m trip.
