RACE 6 No. 1 Mercurian

Gets his chance to break through tomorrow at double-figure odds. Nothing has gone his way at all three runs this campaign yet his closing efforts on each occasion have been strong. He sat wide at the Gold Coast facing the breeze last start sticking on very well to beat all bar the first couple home. Carries no more weight tomorrow and will handle the soft conditions.

RACE 7 No. 5 Live Fast

Absolutely busting to win a race this filly from Toowoomba who made up a stack of ground over the concluding stages here last Saturday. Further back than usual thanks to a wide draw she really hit her straps over the final 150m making up over 4 lengths on the leaders. She’s a wet tracker who will get conditions to suit and no weight on her back.

RACE 9 No. 9 Torgerson

Chris Waller trained gelding who looks to have found his right level in Brisbane. Tidy performance first up running home nicely in a race not run to suit before knuckling down late going home right over the top of Dreams Aplenty at the Gold Coast in fast time a fortnight back. Although unplaced all three runs over a mile he looks better placed to run it out strongly now.
