Doomben 13 February – Thoroughbreds Preview Posted on February 12, 2016 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 4 No.3 Heart Smart Hopefully this Show A Heart gelding is the first leg of a O’Dea stable running double. Returned to form here 3 weeks ago holding off a couple of late closers after racing keenly in the early and middle stages. He finds a race tomorrow which contains plenty of speed, as he’s not an on paced type Bridget Grylls should be able to park him nearer midfield, with clear running in the straight he’s a big chance to mow those leaders down late. RACE 5 No.7 Katy’s Son O’Dea stable once again here with this lightly raced gelding who has won 3 of his 4 starts with the only failure (if you can call it that) coming when he bled 2 starts back at the Sunshine Coast. Impressed with his return win at Ipswich displaying that big finish he’s shown at all of the 3 wins. The step to 1200m tomorrow won’t be a concern and he finds a very winnable race at his first go in town. RACE 8 No.6 Punta Norte Rob Heathcote trained galloper who resumed with a late closing second here 3 weeks ago over the unsuitable 1110m trip. What was impressive about the run was his positioning on the fence which was the inferior ground in the straight, he made good headway on that section before switching around the leader late and continuing to finish on strongly. He looks good each-way value tomorrow. Best Bet Race 5 No.7 Katy’s Son Best Value Race 8 No.6 Punta Norte Quaddie 130% 7 1, 7, 8, 9 1, 6 6, 7, 13, 14 Bet Now!
