Chris Nelson’s Saturday Rosehill Preview Posted on June 1, 2023 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 1 TUTTA LA VITA impressed on debut at Canterbury recently running home very strongly into second placing. She gets out to the longer trip today & should get plenty of favours off the inside draw. Stablemate CONGREGATION cost plenty & is well related, debut win wasn’t pretty however he got it done & should take improvement. STAND ASIDE looks the other main chance, also solid on debut. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet: TUTTA LA VITA TO WIN RACE 2 The resuming SISSU gets the nod here in an open Highway. Lightly raced with a very good record her trials have been good & you’d have to think she’s improved naturally over the break. At good odds PROVERBIAL is worth including, effective fresh, 1100m specialist should run well. The unbeaten MAXIMUM VORTEX rises in grade however has plenty of upside, hard to knock winning form. Numbers: 11 – 5 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics RACE 3 Down in grade & with luck off an awkward draw VICTORY LANE can prove tough to beat. Only lightly raced his effort in stronger company here a fortnight back was solid behind a nice type in Devil’s Throat, ready for another crack at 1400m. Poor draw for the import KYEEMA who is so close to a win, this looks ideal with a touch of luck. SWEET MERCY rounds out the good form/poorly drawn runners, also in with a definite chance having won at this level last start. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics RACE 4 Going with some value this race putting HELL HATH NO FURY on top. Second up she’ll be having her first run for Annabel Neasham & she does hold a solid second up record having won & placed from only the 2 attempts. SEMANA is in terrific form however gets the carpark draw which isn’t ideal, form lines are strong though. RESONATOR was good at Scone, another one who can show up second run back. SPACE TRACKER the big watch, also with the Neasham yard form in the UK sound around this distance range & did win a recent Warwick Farm trial. Numbers: 10 – 5 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics RACE 5 GREBENI will be well fancied here after winning well at Warwick Farm second up, can he measure up to Saturday grade, I’d say yes however I wouldn’t be launching into a short quote. LYRICAL GANGSTER has no early speed as he showed last start however he can find the line, up 200m here I wonder if that’s far enough? CELESTIAL SPIRIT will appreciate the weight drop thanks to the claim & is racing well. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet: GREBENI TO WIN (small bet) RACE 6 Very keen on the chances of the very consistent AL AABIR who was luckless last start & should have won without any doubt. Strung up for a run in the straight the gap came too late & he ran out of ground. Yes, this is harder however he drops plenty in weight which will help offset that. THE MEDITERRANEAN will strip fitter for the run here 2 weeks ago, his first in the country. Go on HERMAN HESSE’s Mornington Cup placing two back, not his latest. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet: AL AABIR TO WIN RACE 7 Taking the punt on the 7 day back up runner CONTEMPORARY who ran on strongly at Randwick last Saturday, caught my eye with that finish & if not a noted market drifter here should run well. DEVIL’S THROAT returned with a strong win driving home over the leader here, up in weight however expecting another forward showing. KIPSBAY can figure off a freshen up. Numbers: 11 – 3 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet: CONTEMPORARY EACH-WAY (small bet) RACE 8 Tough race. ALCYONE was an acceptor both here & Eagle Farm with the stable electing to stay home & run here from the good alley. Consistent enough he had zero luck at Doomben last start posted wide from the outset which killed off any winning chance. That surely won’t be the case here. TONY BE from the Waller yard will be well supported & should be ready to fire third run back from a break. WICKLOW is never far away. BRUTALITY needs wet ground. Numbers: 7 – 18 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet: ALCYONE EACH-WAY (small bet) RACE 9 Could be the right race for the third up ROBUSTO who was a winner at the same stage of his last campaign. Solid behind Devil’s Throat last time out he looks ready for the step up in distance now. LEKVARTE wasn’t aided by the big weight last start, still with plenty to carry here however 3kg less & draws perfectly. AFRICAN DAISY gets a start now, worth including. Numbers: 14 – 13 – 16 – 1 Suggested Bet: ROBUSTO EACH-WAY RACE 10 Stablemates MISS HELLFIRE & CALIFORNIA SURREAL fought out the finish here last start with the former too solid over the concluding stages aided by a 5.5kg weight advantage. Whilst still better off the difference between the pair this time is 3.5kg. CALIFORNIA SURREAL is also third up & ready to peak, I’ll lean her way to turn the tables at the much better price. CYTHERA must be included coming out of a Listed race last start. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet: CALIFORNIA SURREAL EACH-WAY Market Market
