RACE 1

Keen on the chances of the lightly raced TRICKETEER who did a good job in the Debut race on the original Magic Millions Day in very poor conditions before resuming with a tidy second at the Sunshine Coast. He’ll take good improvement off that, appreciate the step up to 1200m & from an ideal gate get the right run. ZELGARIA clearly the toughest to beat off the Eagle Farm win, no knock on the debut second either.

RACE 2

WARP SPEED backs up off a good win last week & does map to get the perfect run in the small field. I wouldn’t be keen to take short odds about any of these as they do tend to mix their form suggesting his price looks fair. FAST TALKING doesn’t look far away should race in the first couple, gets his chance to bring up his first win this prep.

Suggested Bet: BOX UP TOP 4 IN EXOTICS

RACE 3

Going to stick with the impressive first up winner DUNE FORTY FIVE who powered home to score running away from his rivals. His second up record doesn’t read well however he is in a new yard now which may help to rectify that, happy to take the punt. SAGACIOUS, STUTTERING & DERULO can all roll forward, they look the most likely dangers, should the latter get back to anywhere near his best he’d be a real chance at big odds.

RACE 4

Big field, bit of a lottery however the one who can win should things pan out is the Tony Gollan trained PUTONTHEREDLIGHT who is a model of consistency without winning. Her pattern is to get back & run on which so often works against her, I’m not sure where she’ll get to from the inside draw however with room late she can mow this lot down! MISHANI SNIPER has taken a long time to win again, surprised if he didn’t run well again however also drawn in will need luck in the straight.

RACE 5

CHARGE ON & OCEAN EMPEROR met in a race here recently with the former winning narrowly, OCEAN EMPEROR meets CHARGE ON much better at the weights this time around though & with a positive ride early can get across & likely within the first three settling down. CHARGE ON charged home last start, almost got there. Gets quite open from there on.

RACE 6

This looks the right race for the consistent DA PARTY GAL who is third up in her prep, note she’s won at the same stage of her past two campaigns & this looks a very winnable race for her with Jimmy Orman to steer from a decent gate. Look for her to be motoring home late. VALLEY OF DREAMS turned her form around with an on-paced win here a fortnight back, claim helps, can figure again. GEE BEE ESS not hopeless at big odds, was very good two back.

RACE 7

SPIRIT QUEEN has put in two cracking runs her past couple & clearly gets the nod here. Closed late at the end of 1000m at Eagle Farm before producing a huge finish in the Jewel here coming from last to beat all bar the winner. The better draw will see her a lot close in the run & from there she’s the one! EKATERINA was also very good making ground in the Jewel, likely to give SPIRIT QUEEN a start though. LUBRICATION next best, very smart type resuming.

RACE 8

I’ve got MANHOOD on top however I’m not really interested in taking a short price as there looks to be good speed & he may end up in a duel. He was good winning first up which was his first run as a gelding which could well be the making of him as a racehorse. Giving STARVIRGO a definite knock out chance, he will appreciate to solid tempo & has form in stronger races, not much luck at his latest. TILIANAM must go in, model of consistency & better placed back to the shorter trip.

RACE 9

TENZING from the Tony Gollan stable is an ex-Kiwi who has had the two local outings. Liked the first of those running on making ground albeit wanting to hang in. The latest he did look to have every chance however was beaten by a couple of in-form types. This grade suits & he stays at the mile which looks suitable. MAGIC CONQUEROR continues to race well on the pace, definite each-way claims once again. FLYBRIDGE is far from my favourite horse however if he gets a run include in exotics.
