RACE 1 No.2 Don Corleone

Yes, he’s short however perhaps the bookies may get a little generous closer to race time? I’m not into tipping odds-on favourites as ‘good things’ as a rule however I do think this one is just that. His debut win was outstanding sitting wide without any cover, entitled to go backwards in the straight he did the exact opposite rounding up and coming clear of his rivals. Not only was he impressive to the eye, he smashed the clock as well!

RACE 7 No.11 Sunshine In Paris

Really like this filly from the Annabel Neasham stable who has only had the 3 career starts. She won a Canberra maiden on debut with plenty in the tank, placed in Listed company at start two before back and wide yet able to run right over the top of her rivals in restricted race at Randwick on Christmas Eve. Big task on Saturday stepping up to Group 2 company however her recent trial has me convinced she’s more than capable of measuring up.

RACE 10 No.4 Waterford

Highly promising type from the Chris Waller yard who resumes on Saturday with J Mac to do the steering. A winner at 4 of his 6 starts he had a terrific last prep with his only defeat coming in the Silver Eagle when giving away too much start. Unfortunately, that is his pattern to get back and run on suggesting he will need a few breaks in the straight. He’s got the right man on top to get those breaks plus his recent trial suggests he’s ready to win.
