Chris Nelson’s Friday Sunshine Coast Preview Posted on December 13, 2024December 13, 2024 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 1 Racing from the Sunshine Coast this evening, we should be going around on near enough to a Good rated surface. The meeting gets under way with a 1000m dash for the maidens where I’m with the consistent OOHLALOUVRE who finished out of the placings last start however a wide run didn’t help her chances. Previous form was consistent & she can break through tonight. The resuming HOT TORQUE INVEGAS is the early market favourite, resumes off a couple of solid efforts at her initial prep & comes up with the rails gate which is very positive with the rail out 9m. First starter PU FF ‘N’ HARRY has trialled well & comes from a betting yard, DRANITZELLE was well backed on debut here when fading down the straight, expect improvement tonight. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet: OOHLALOUVRE TO WIN. RACE 2 Thought BLUE MOVES did a good job here recently when having her first outing for the Stuart Kendrick stable. She drew wide pushing on working up on the speed & although unable to see it out down the straight certainly didn’t shirk her task. The map suggests she should get across ok tonight & enjoy a less hectic trip. The consistent BEE TOO another local appears the main danger, drop back 100m looks suitable & note the blinkers go on. DIVINE SOURCE a market watch, debuts off a recent trial second, time wasn’t quick though. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet: BLUE MOVES TO WIN. RACE 3 The lightly raced, consistent VESPER LYND can roll forward here & take up a prominent position. Freshened up the drop back in distance looks quite suitable particularly with the rail out so far. Big watch on the ex-HK galloper STREAK OF WINNING who although yet to start in an actual race has had the 3 trials back home & one here which he won beating 2 rivals, market? DIBBA DOBBA in the mix as well, just may need this having not raced for 2 months. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet: VESPER LYND EACH-WAY. RACE 4 Confidence levels not high this race & the market sees it the same way this morning with 4 runners all close to each other in betting. SCRIBBLE has less convictions & his pattern to date has been to settle on speed. He might take some catching if able to bowl along in front. Follow any positive market leads as the stable do like a bet. CLIPPER SHIP made ground first local outing on the Gold Coast, wouldn’t have to improve a great deal to figure here. BLUEPRINT can figure in the placings. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics. RACE 5 BAD EDUCATION draws a little awkwardly & may need a touch of luck early on however his recent efforts finishing not too far from a couple of good in form types (Hell & The Inflictor) is clearly good enough to go close here. ECONOMICS resumes with a good first up record & has been well supported this morning, certainly in the right local stable. CHAKRA BOY is a model of consistency however another with a concerning draw. Include QUADE should the track deteriorate, he likes plenty of give in the ground. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet: BAD EDUCATION EACH-WAY. RACE 6 Going with some value here putting LION CLASS on top who maps to gain a good run just in behind the speed & comes into the race with a consistent recent record. Formerly trained down south he’s fit nicely into the Mayfield-Smith stable in Brisbane & just has to overcome a weight rise, hence the each-way suggestion. Without doubt PIVOTAL LAD the toughest to beat, strong second-up win, needs to make early use of the inside gate. Race gets very open from then on. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 2 – 11 Suggested Bet: LION CLASS EACH-WAY. RACE 7 Hoping TIRITIRI can get the job done in this closing race. He doesn’t win too often however his last start effort at the Gold Coast was good enough for this & he will appreciate the step up in distance. If Michael Rodd can have him within striking distance early in the straight he’ll take plenty of holding out. DIVINE DIAMONDS is only raced & doesn’t look far off a win, any give in the ground will help her chances. BOLD HUSSAR & BARELLO in the mix. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet: TIRITIRI TO WIN (small bet). Market Market
