Chris Nelson’s Eagle Farm Best Bets Posted on October 11, 2019 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Best Bets RACE 5 No.1 Gem Of Scotland Class filly with an enviable strike rate who can make up for a last start strong closing second with a win tomorrow. She just gave away too much start to the leader in that race at Doomben which was far from solidly run, the fact she whittled the margin down to less than half a length on the line was a good one and the step to 1400 is ideal. She won’t have any issues on the predicted wet ground having won her only start on a heavy track by over 6 lengths! RACE 8 No.3 Scallopini Should we race on a dry surface all day this race appears a match between this very consistent galloper and the Team Edmonds trained Cadogan. However as we are expecting a fair amount of rain we’re likely to get into the soft range and should that be the case this one clearly gets the nod. He’s 3 from 3 on soft ground and his two runs back have been exceptional against the tempo on each occasion. RACE 9 No.7 Tambo’s Mate Won 4 of only 8 starts to date and looks all set to add to that tally tomorrow. Cracking run first up at Doomben closing off strongly to beat all bar the winner. He just ran into some slight trouble early on which caused him to overrace badly, he wasn’t really entitled to finish off as well as he did which suggests he’s come back in great order. Another who won’t have any trouble in rain affected ground. Best Value Race 7 No.10 Francisca Quaddie 1, 4, 5, 10, 11 1, 5, 6, 10 3, 7 7, 11 Market Market
