Chris Nelson’s Doomben Best Bets Posted on May 21, 2021May 21, 2021 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 5 No.10 Le Gai Soleil John O’Shea trained mare from down south who was the best of ‘good things beaten’ last start on the Kensington track Anzac Day. She just couldn’t gain clear running in the straight until a fraction too late, once into the open she warmed up big time charging home to just miss on the line. Huge chance to make amends and build on her already impressive record. RACE 7 No.5 Zaaki Dominant in the Hollindale a fortnight back and I can’t see any reason he won’t repeat the performance in the big Group 1. Again there doesn’t appear to be any decent tempo in the race and again J Mac can send him forward into a prominent position. From there with the same turn of foot it’s going to be near on impossible for those behind to run him down. RACE 8 No.14 Garibaldi Cracking race which most have narrowed down to Garibaldi or Skins who are both looking to win and sure up a Stradbroke start. The former draws well the latter awfully and that’s going to make his job very tough. They both can unleash big sprints however with Garibaldi likely anything up to 6 lengths in front of his main rival on the turn I have to lean his way. Quaddie 3, 2, 1, 13 5, 1 14, 17 2, 3, 6, 10 Market Market
