The Scout: EPL Week 29 Posted on March 11, 2022March 11, 2022 | Posted by The Scout Brighton vs Liverpool Liverpool (2nd) are rolling right now, and with seven straight victories, they are keeping the pressure on league-leaders Manchester City. Brighton (13th) on the other hand are on the opposite trajectory having lost their last four matches. Liverpool have stepped up defensively during this undefeated streak and the trio of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson and Virgil Van Dijk are back to being one of the best defensive units in the world. Their chemistry is unrivalled and this was on full display in the Reds’ 1-0 win over a dangerous West Ham. Liverpool have kept five clean sheets in the seven wins, conceding just two goals total. This spells trouble for Brighton who have just 26 goals for the season and went all of February without a Premier League goal. Suggested Bet: Liverpool WIN to Nil @ $2.70* Brentford vs Burnley Brentford (15th) finally broke their drought, winning their first game in eight Premier League fixtures, while Burnley (18th) have lost two in a row and continue to stare down the barrel of relegation. Despite getting a much-needed win, Brentford will (or should) not be filled with too much confidence given they took advantage of Norwich City, who are easily the worst team in the Premier League. Brentford have struggled defensively even conceding a goal to Norwich who are also the worst attacking team in the league. Burnley’s latest signing, striker Wout Weghorst, looks the man most likely to take advantage of Brentford’s leaky defense. Weghorst stands at a monstrous 197cm making him a legitimate mismatch in the air. Suggested Bet: Wout Weghorst to Score a Goal @ $3.60* Manchester United vs Tottenham Manchester United (5th) were dismantled by Manchester City 4-1 last matchday and have now slipped out of the Premier League top four. Tottenham (7th) are still in the hunt for that top four spot and come into this match off the back of a 5-0 rout of Everton. United are only one point behind 4th placed Arsenal so should see last week’s loss as only a minor setback (despite the scoreline). Their loss to City was their first in 12 Premier League fixtures, so their form this year has been superb. Tottenham’s recent results read wins over Everton and Leeds so an away game at United is a big step up in competition. United have lost just once at Old Trafford in their last eight games at the venue and I think this run continues behind new recruit, Jadon Sancho.
