Chris Nelson’s Eagle Farm Best Bets

RACE 2 No.7 Forever You

Annabel Neasham trained visitor who takes on many of our ‘usual suspects’ on Saturday at Eagle Farm. Only lightly raced with 4 starts under his belt he’s won his past couple by a cumulative margin of just over 7 lengths firstly at Kembla Grange before charging away at Newcastle last time out. He just looks too promising and too good.

RACE 7 No.4 Osamu

Busting to win a race and he gets a terrific chance to do just that on Saturday. Beaten just over a length behind the in-form Shamrock Lu last time out he did look a little unlucky only gaining clear running near the 50m however unfortunately the bird had well and truly flown. Freshened up, back to 1000m he gets his chance to break through.

RACE 8 No.6 Contemptuous

Yes’ he’s a favourite of mine this one. Only lightly raced with 11 starts under his belt he’s won 6 of them having only missed a placing on the single occasion when jockey Boris Thornton had some concerns with his action easing him down over the final 100m or so of the race. That was much earlier in his career which has taken a big step forward since. He won 4 of his 5 starts last prep and should be ready to fire first up on Saturday.
