Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on May 7, 2024May 7, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Potentially a handy 2yo maiden to kick off, with a few impressive performances from the debutants at trials/jump outs and decent race day form. SHE’S GOT PIZZAZZ impressed in a recent jumpout victory, showing good early speed before quickening nicely over the final stages. CLASSY GIRL and CLEARLY DIVINE were others to show up at the jumpouts but most of the debutants have shown something. BLUE RENEGADE was beaten by a smart one on debut and will be better for the experience. Selections: 13,11,1,2 Suggested Bet: Small play She’s Got Pizzazz each way Race 2 LADY DI DI was held up at a crucial stage in a key lead up race and was scratched at Caulfield on Saturday to be saved for this. RANVERR resumed from a lengthy break in that lead up race and will strip fitter. JEWEL BAY can roll forward from the draw and will also strip fitter second up. KIKO has been freshened and will be strong late. Selections: 6,2,5,8 Suggested Bet: Lady Di Di to win Race 3 TACUMWAH worked home solidly first up in a stronger race and seems well placed rising in trip with the claim. BURLINGTON GATE will be approaching peak fitness third up and also appears suited stepping up to 1800m. FURLANETTO has been winning well in easier grade and seems to appreciate being ridden a bit quieter than earlier in her career. WHISTLE DOWN is another that brings winning form from easier races and she can make her own luck. Selections: 2,3,4,7 Suggested Bet: Tacumwah to win Race 4 NOVA LIGHTS impressed breaking her maiden last time, the form through her previous run is holding up well and she looks capable of measuring up. SOMEBODYTOLOVE has plenty of upside and has jumped out in great style to kick off her second prep. SPIRIT OF NURAI also has upside, she resumes from a lengthy break and has jumped out well in the same heat as Somebodytolove. FINE REBEL has been freshened, she’s most consistent and maps for a good run with the benefit of a claim. Selections: 6,10,5,2 Suggested Bet: Nova Lights to win Race 5 NOBLE CONQUEROR has trialled particularly well to resume and his most recent form through Brudenell is good for this. ROADCONE impressed at his Australian debut, he has the wide draw to contend with but looks progressive. RACKEMANN will strip fitter second up and although Angland was beaten at Caulfield last Saturday, that form still looks strong. SPEEDTAIL can improve back on firmer ground. GALLANT PRINCE has been kept up to the mark with a jumpout between runs and has some claims. Selections: 8,12,9,7 Suggested Bet: Playing multiples with 8,12 & 9 Race 6 Good race with plenty of chances. MANTUA may need some luck from the inside draw but there should be good speed and he looked unlucky after getting involved in a bumping duel with Herecomesthestar last start. FLYING MEAN is a maiden but has jumped out impressively for an in-form stable and will appreciate a solid tempo. RUSSIAN BOBSHARK justified his short quote on debut and can measure up. LIGHT WISH looks promising and may appreciate coming back to 1000m. HEART OF GLASS has the wide draw but will strip fitter for a narrow first up win. GRAND LARCENY has upside, he’ll be part of the speed and has trialled in typically sharp style. Selections: 11,2,6,10 Suggested Bet: Mantua each way Race 7 Samuel Langhorne ties most of this form together and PRISMATIC seems over the odds in early markets for mine from a favourable draw with a claim. UPWOODS was mixing it with Samuel prior to his last start, with luck from the draw he’s right in the game with D.Lane going back aboard. VERIFIER doesn’t win out of turn and usually hits a flat spot but is in the mix as usual. ROARING ENGINE was below his best at Bendigo but goes well for B.Shinn and has claims on his previous form. GLENS TOP CAT has found winning form in easier races and can make his own luck. Selections: 1,12,6,2 Suggested Bet: Prismatic each way Race 8 SMART DEEL is flying for the new stable and Poifect enhanced the form from her latest run with a stakes victory in Adelaide last Saturday. The Big Heist has obvious upside, he resumed from a long break with a strong win and can only be improved by that effort. Aiming can’t be improving but continues to race well and has jumped out nicely between runs. JUCCONI has been kept fresh since his last start win and should get a good run from the draw. Selections: 13,4,9,1 Suggested Bet: Smart Deel each way Market Market
