Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on July 4, 2023July 7, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 ORTEGA worked through the line ok in a much stronger race first up. He should appreciate 1200m and the drop in grade. GOLDEN ESTRELLA has been jumping out well on rain affected ground for her debut. FIRE POWER maps for a good run and comes through what should be a decent form race first up. REFRESHING will strip fitter second up and gets blinkers first time. Selections: 3,7,2,11 Suggested Bet: Ortega to win Race 2 HARD SQUEEZE races well here and should get every chance from the draw. DUNALLY had a confidence booster on heavy ground last time, she gives the impression she will cope with this trip now. ALORS TU CROIS is fit and in form, she seems to relish wet ground. BOTANY is likely to be better for the run in this distance range last start. Selections: 4,9,8,2 Suggested Bet: Hard Squeeze each way Race 3 THE DEVIL IN HER impressed breaking her maiden on heavy ground, she overcame difficulties on that occasion and looks capable of measuring up to this stronger race. REGAL VOW has been racing well since breaking her maiden and drops in grade on her latest run. ELSIE MAY worked home ok at her first Australian run, no surprise to see her settle more forward with the rise in trip and a low draw. FOREIGN RAIDER ran ok in a stronger race first up after a long break and will strip fitter. Selections: 9,3,1,2 Suggested Bet: The Devil In Her each way Race 4 LA VINA hit the line strongly at her frat run for the new stable and looks suited stepping up to 1200m. STARLEA was luckless in the same race and also worked home strongly when finally clear. EXTREME STEP has a great first up record and has been jumping out well, heavy ground would be a query. STARLIGHT SCOPE and MRS CHRISSIE look to control the tempo and can give a sight. Selections: 4,6,1,2 Suggested Bet: La Vina each way Race 5 JACK OF IT is a talented galloper, he handles wet ground well and should be further improved by his last start victory. ROGUE ROCKER is an interesting runner, his interstate form is solid and he’s been jumping out in good style. CRESTANI did some work first up and will strip fitter. TRADING POST has been kept fresh and gets right down in the weights. ALONG THE RIVER ust have a hope after finishing alongside Crestani last time. Selections: 7,4,2,10 Suggested Bet: Jack Of It each way Race 6 SUNFISH had no luck on debut and was well supported to win last start, without many favours in the run. BIRDIES GALORE was back to something like her best form last start and may be looking for 1400m now. CROWN CRUSHER has been hitting the line well and the Longe Bar Rubi form is strong. BETTER LINK will likely roll forward from the wide draw and give a sight. SLANE won well on debut, he also looks part of the speed and looks capable of measuring up. Selections: 9,11,7,4 Suggested Bet: Sunfish each way Race 7 TASMAN PARK should be approaching peak fitness after being grabbed near the line second up. WASCALY is lightly race with plenty of talent, he handles rain affected ground and is unbeaten first up. ARKTIKA should be close to her top now and there has been merit in both her runs this preparation. JABBAWOCKEEZ, COPPERFIELD, FATIGUES and JUCCONI have claims. Selections: 2,3,6,10 Suggested Bet: Tasman Park to win Race 8 SCANTOON is sure to be improved by his two runs this campaign and should get an economical run from the draw. RHEINBERG has been jumping out well, he was a late scr with a track downgrade in a 1200m race last week but has too much upside to overlook. PLACE OF GOLD resumed with a strong win and loos suited stepping up to 1400m second up. NETANYAHU had excuses first up and drops in grade. OUR BOY BRYAN won well forst up and loves it wet. Selections: 2,13,11,3 Suggested Bet: Scantoon each way Market Market
