Warren Huntly’s Saturday Sandown Preview Posted on January 6, 2023January 6, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 ALL SASSED UP is still a maiden, but performed well in strong races as a 2yo and has jumped out in great style to resume. THE GUAVA pulled up with EIPH last start after a luckless first up run. FISSION gets very worked up pre-race but continues to perform well. BISTRO has displayed her customary speed in recent jumpouts. CAPITAL THEATRE will be strong late. Selections: 6,3,1,2 Suggested Bet: All Sassed Up to win Race 2 DETONATOR JACK is likely to start the shortest priced favourite of the day and appears to be on his way to better races. HELENE LEADINGSTAR ran through the line well in a slowly run race first up, he looks suited by the rise in trip. IMPERIAL LAD will make his own luck. SO SI BON and BLACK SAIL are fit and consistent. Selections: 2,6,4,3 Suggested Bet: Anchoring Detonator Jack and Helene Leadingstar in multiples Race 3 WORSFOLD was confidently backed first up for the new stable and has been kept fresh for this. His placing behind Mr Brightside earlier in his career reads well. MY YANKEE GIRL comes through the ‘whip protest’ race. Dance to Dubai came through that race to win at The Valley last week and ironically J.Kah takes over today. HE’S XCEPTIONAL controlled the race to win well last time. SO RISQUE chased My Yankee Girl last start and will strip fitter. SERIOUS LIAISON resumes from a lengthy break, he’s been jumping out nicely and his Hong Kong form was solid when last in work. Selections: 9,4,3,5 Suggested Bet: Quinella/Exacta 9 & 4 Race 4 LIBERATED GIRL started a short priced favourite last start, but was no match for DANE ON TOUR after covering some additional ground. She will strip fitter and gets a weight turnaround on Dane On Tour. SO YOU SEE finished ahead of Liberated Girl when running second behind Life Lessons first up and pulled up with EIPH last start. BLACK QUEEN has had a couple of quiet jumpouts and kicks off at a suitable trip. Selections: 8,4,6,3 Suggested Bet: Liberated Girl to win Race 5 INUNDATION broke the track record at The Valley for 1000m first up and you’d assumed he’ll strip fitter. He may take a sit off what looks a strong tempo. ON THE LEAD comes through some strong form races in Sydney and has been covering ground his last couple. NAJEM SUHAIL has raced himself into form and will be part of the speed. STARRY LEGEND has shown his usual speed in a recent jumpout for the new stable. Selections: 5,1,3,2 Suggested Bet: Inundation to win but will be short Race 6 JUST JOHNNO chased well behind Invincible Caviar first up and looks suited by the extra 100m on another spacious track. MICRO had no luck in a slowly run race last start but worked through the line well. DAILY BUGLE resumed with a strong win at his first run as a gelding and look suited stepping up to 1300m. MERRY MAC BOY looks promising 3yo and has been jumping out well. NETANYAHU is racing well and maps for a good run. Selections: 9,11,6,12 Suggested Bet: Just Johnno each way Race 7 THE NEPHEW had a bit against him last start but still ran well, he gets blinkers first time and looks well placed dropping in grade. Doubt DESPERADO was best suited leading last start but still stuck on ok. The form through that race has held up well. TASMAN PARK is deep into his first preparation but keeps rising to the challenge. INDEPENDENT ROAD might save his best for Flemington but is a winner here and beat Desperado home last start. HARBOUMASTER has returned well. RIVERPLATE will be at peak fitness but is some query at 1800m. Selections: 4,10,3,1 Suggested Bet: The Nephew each way Race 8 Deep race. WAHINE TOA dominated a similar race last start and should strip even fitter. PESTO gets out to a suitable trip third up and drops in grade with a claim, he didn’t have the best of luck last time. SPANISH KISS ran well in the same race as Pesto at his latest run. CREDIT CRUNCH and MADE BY KHAN bring some solid NSW form. SO UNUSUAL won an easier race in impressive fashion last start. DUBLIN JOURNAL is progressing nicely. Selections: 14,1,5,12 Suggested Bet: Wahine Toa each way Race 9 UNFLINCHING led and helped set up a track record last start, he looks well placed dropping in grade. STAY IN TOUCH was disappointing first up but has jumped out well since. ALL ABOUT EVE will sit off what appears to be a solid tempo and be strong late. LUNA CAT will be better over further but has looked sharp in her recent trials and jumpouts. WINSUM is usually effective first up and has jumped out well. Selections: 1,4,10,13 Suggested Bet: Unflinching each way Market Market
