Warren Huntly’s Saturday Moonee Valley Preview Posted on December 23, 2022December 23, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Plenty to learn, with all the first starters showing talent at trials/jumpouts. HELLARA was slowly away when well supported on debut and looks suited stepping up to 1200m. CANTOLAGO also looks suited stepping up to this trip and gets winkers on. AMUR looked strong in a recent jumpout. DEVILS DELIGHT has won a trial in good style. Selections: 7,4,1,2 Suggested Bet: Happy to look and learn Race 2 BUBBLY LASS was narrowly beaten in a similar race here last start and maps for a great run from the draw. FORBIDDEN CITY won a slightly easier race in good style last start, the form through that race has held up well and she will strip fitter third up. VERSILIA found the front early here last start in the same race as Bubbly Lass. BALLYNORA got the right run to win here last time and should get another good run from a favourable draw. Selections: 1,4,3,2 Suggested Bet: Bubbly Lass to win Race 3 INUNDATION resumes and looks to be coming to hand well, although you’d expect a fast horse like him to look good at the jumpouts. RED CARD is fit and racing well, she may sit just behind what looks a decent speed. UNFLINCHING has been gelded and looked his usual sharp self at the jumpouts. JABALI RIDGE will appreciate a strong tempo and gets blinkers on second up after an encouraging resturn. Selections: 3,8,1,6 Suggested Bet: Inundation to win Race 4 Competitive race with potentially a solid tempo. DUSSE is at the top of the weights, but she looked good winning here two starts back and Red Card will provide a guide on the form through her most recent run in the previous race. PINK CASHMERE has been kept fresh since her impressive debut on the Ballarat synthetic, her recent jumpout looked encouraging. CAPITAL THEATRE hit the line well in Sydney last start, he’ll likely settle back again but will be strong late. RICH FORTUNE is a maiden, but she was well backed on debut and has jumped out nicley to resume from a good draw. Selections: 1,10,7,12 Suggested Bet: Dusse each way Race 5 VEGAS KNIGHT drops in grade from the Pakenham Cup, he can make his own luck and is arguably better suited back in trip. THE NEPHEW is ready to win and should appreciate the rise in trip. RIGHT YOU ARE got the right run with blinkers back on last start, he rises in weight but has claims again. SEE MARIE chased ok behind Right You Are last start. If REUBER begins cleanly, he’s right in it. Selections: 7,9,1,6 Suggested Bet: Vegas Knight each way Race 6 PITCHANUN hasn’t won for a while, but she races well here and was forced to do plenty of work last start. FREEDOM ESCAPE was disappointing last week, but his previous form would have him right in the mix. ASHY BOY can make his own luck and his form ties in with Pitchanun and MOTAMAYIZ. LET’S SEA won well in easier grade last time. NOT A PROBLEM is racing well and covered ground at his most recent run. Selections: 13,7,3,10 Suggested Bet: Pitchanun to win but it’s D Day! Race 7 RIVERPLATE is unbeaten since being gelded, he’ll make his own luck and his unplaced runs at 1600m have been in much stronger company. SOARHI will be at peak fitness and maps for a good trail. NEW CHOICE comes through the same race as Soarhi, he could settle closer in the run and will strip fitter third up. CONFRONTATIONAL beat Soarhi and New Choice last start, but might need luck from the draw. CEASAR had his chance second up, but is another that should secure an economical run. NETANTAHU is fit and racing well. Selections: 5,11,6,4 Suggested Bet: Riverplate to win Race 8 WERTHEIMER has been solid in a number of Country Cups recently, he’ll strip fitter for his last run and his run in the Bendigo Cup is a great reference for this. WAHINE TOA will be fitter third up and maps for a good run down in the weights. ANGEL had no luck last time and gets Oliver. HARDLY SWEET coped well with the step up to 2400m last start. MVITA won her maiden in dominant fashion last time at her first run at 2400m. Selections: 4,12,8,10 Suggested Bet: Wertheimer each way Race 9 Tough finish and potentially a solid speed. HEAVENLY EMPEROR hasn’t won for nearly two years, but he has jumped out well for the new stable and will appreciate a strong tempo. SHAM I AM races well on the fresh side and likes it here, he’ll be part of the speed. DONNA NATALINA will need some luck from the draw, but won well here last start. MAGNUM BULLET is fit and consistent. BLOOD OATH, SOCIAL CONSCIENCE and BELSIELLE have claims in a deep race. Selections: 3,10,11,4 Suggested Bet: Heavenly Emperor each way Market Market
