Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on September 15, 2023September 15, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 WILLIAM THOMAS seems big odds in early markets. He was safely held on the Pakenham synthetic track last start but his previous form was typically solid and he has jumped out well between runs. BEWS has returned in good form as a gelding and was held up at a crucial stage last start. CAUSE FOR CONCERN had excuses last time, he’s been freshened and jumped out nicely. RED HOT NICC was caught wide early and pulled up with a slow recovery first up. FASUTO, OUR LAST CASH, LITTLE MISS KUBI and SKIDAMARINK have claims in a deep race. Selections: 3,13,2,1 Suggested Bet: William Thomas each way Race 2 INTERPRETATION has returned well and looks suited stepping up to this trip on a spacious track. SHAIYHAR impressed over a shorter course last start and has been kept up to the mark with a solid trial between runs. UNITED NATIONS stayed in the right part of the track to run well last time and drops right down in the weights. SERPENTINE will strip fitter for an encouraging first up run. Selections: 2,8,10,1 Suggested Bet: Interpretation each way Race 3 ANTINO has looked highly promising in Qld and has trialled quite well during his break. DETONATOR JACK has trialled well since his first up run and is sure to appreciate stepping up to 1400m. KALINO hit he line strongly over this trip last start and gets some weight relief with the rise in grade. UMGAWA beat Detonator Jack home last start, so must have a case. CLIMBING STAR takes on the boys but has upside and will appreciate 1400m. Selections: 2,3,4,6 Suggested Bet: Antino to win Race 4 Good race. KING’S GAMBIT was competitive against the elite two year olds and has trialled well to kick off his three year old season. MAHARBA also competed well against the best two year olds and has been jumping out in good style. PIVOT CITY is some new blood to these ranks and has trialled in great style since his impressive debut victory. I AM UNSTOPPABLE will strip fitter for an encouraging return behind Cylinder. KANDINSKY ABSTARCT had excuses first up. Selections: 3,5,12,6 Suggested Bet: Playing multiples around 3,5,12 & 6 Race 5 LEGACIES is a classy filly, she chased well first up and looks ideally suited stepping up to 1400m. MOJAVE DESERT was held up at a crucial stage first up but still picked himself up to charge through the line. GRIFF will be close to peak fitness third up and battled on well after riding the speed at his latest run. ESSKAY is one of a few other that will appreciate the step up to 1400m. Selections: 15,7,8,10 Suggested Bet: Legacies to win Race 6 SKIRT THE LAW tested Charm Stone first up and will strip fitter. ESTRIELLA brings some strong Sydney form and has started fav at her last two starts. No trial or jumpout listed for STRETAN ANGEL, who impressed winning her last start before a break. SICILIAN stuck on well behind Charm Stone and Skirt The Law last start. STEEL CITY has trialled quite well to resume with blinkers off. Selections: 3,15,8,16 Suggested Bet: Skirt The Law to win Race 7 ALLIGATOR BLOOD will strip fitter second up and looks to control the tempo, as he did in this race last year. MR BRIGHTSIDE should settle in a stalking position and although Alligator Blood will give a great sight, Mr Brightside can justify his short quote and win again. OSIPENKO and PRINCESS GRACE both look ready to peak at 1600m third up. Selections: 1,2,7,6 Suggested Bet: Mr Brightside to win Feature Race Multi – Mr Brightside to win with H2 Alligator Blood and H6 Osipenko to finish top four Race 8 AMELIA’S JEWEL may need some luck from the draw but should relish 1400m on the spacious track. SEE YOU IN HEAVEN did some early work last start in Adelaide and will strip fitter third up. WROTE TO ARATAKI and PAPILLON CLUB both closed off well behind Benedetta first up and that form is expected to stand up in the next race. FOXY FRIDA and TOREGENE have some claims. Selections: 1,2,7,6 Suggested Bet: Amelia’s Jewel to win Race 9 BENEDETTA is building an impressive record and likes the straight track. She should be charging late with the light weight. KING OF SPARTA is proven in this grade and has trialled well to resume. MINSK MOMENT has jumped out in good fashion and looks a potential blowout chance on the minimum weight. STAR PATROL has obvious talent and has been trialling in typically good style to resume after throat surgery. IT’SOURTIME is fit, consistent and saves his best for the straight track. Selections: 8,1,9,5 Suggested Bet: Benedetta to win Race 10 CARINI closed of strongly at his first Australian start in what has proved to be a strong form race and should appreciate stepping up to 1700m. DEVOTED came through that race to win his next start in good style and has strong claims again. MAKRAM has jumped out nicely since his encouraging first up run. LET’SROLLTHEDICE did enough first up and will appreciate the rise in distance. FLASH FLOOD is hard fit and racing in good form. SIBAAQ has jumped out well between runs and gets blinkers back on. Selections: 16,10,3,14 Suggested Bet: Carini to win Market Market
