Warren Huntly’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on September 16, 2022September 16, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 FENGARADA is flying for the new stable. He travelled to Swan Hill and back last week only to see the meeting abandoned, which may have taken a bit out of him? If he can hold his form from his last start, then he’s the one to beat. GLOBAL GIFT covered ground over 1600m last start and shapes as though 2000m could suit. PROTECTION MONEY has returned well, he might be looking for 2400m now but will be strong late. PRES DE TOI and GONE WEST are in the mix. Selections: 3,1,9,12 Suggested Bet: Box Qu/Ex: 3,1,9 Race 2 PORT ALBERT has run well at his two runs to date and has been jumping out nicely to resume. His form ties in with CANNONBALL, who has race fitness. XTRAVAGANT STAR is another that looked good in her first prep and has been showing her customary speed in recent jumpouts. WINNERTAKESITALL covered ground last start and should appreciate what appears to be a strong tempo. Stablemates Lascars, Renosu and Kin have some claims. Selections: 4,6,7,3 Suggested Bet: Port Albert each way Race 3 PRIDE OF JENNI has been back to the jumpouts since her solid return behind Chain of Lightning. ZOUZARELLA comes through that same form line and there wasn’t much between them in that race. The drop in grade and the rise in trip is suitable for both. SAIGON ran well first up behind Lady of Honour, that horse then tested Kissonallforcheeks, which ties in with the Chain of Lightning form. ADELE AMOUR is generally effective fresh and has trialled well. MEGAMEA and OCEAN MISS both ran well behind Lady of Honour. Selections: 10,5,6,4 Suggested Bet: Saigon each way Race 4 AFT CABIN came back in trip last start and sat closer to the speed than his prior win. Back out to 1400m is a plus and I would expect he’d be ridden a little quieter. AMENABLE will need some luck from the draw but ran well first up and will appreciate stepping up in trip. OSIPENKO has been trialling quite well in Sydney and the form around him is strong. JAPANESE EMPEROR impressed winning on debut and should appreciate the rise to 1400m. MERIDIUS hit the line strongly first up and looks suited steeping up in distance. Selections: 2,7,1,8 Suggested Bet: Aft Cabin to win Race 5 Competitve race. BOOGIE DANCER may roll forward at this trip and attempt to offset the wide barrier early. She is one of many promising fillies here. MUMBAI JEWEL had no luck at Moonee Valley last start when trying to build monentum in the home straight. MISS HELLFIRE comes through some strong Sydney form lines this prep and maps for a good run. BONHEUR only won a maiden first up but her two year old form was strong. REVOLUTIONARY MISS was ok aginst the pattern first up. PROSCENIUM ARCH is fit and racing well. SHE’S LICKETYSPLIT is a Group 1 winner in NZ. Selections: 5,7,6,13 Suggested Bet: Boogie Dancer each way Race 6 Deep race. EMISSARY had trialled well before his strong first up win. He should strip even fitter and looks suited stepping up to 2000m. SMOKIN’ ROMANS will strip fitter third up and has tactical versatility. CRYSTAL PEGASUS has a good second up record and did enough first up over an unsuitable trip. GOLD TRIP ran well first up and should be suited stepping up in trip. D Day is approaching for UNCLE BRYN this prep but not doubting his talent. LUNAR FLARE worked home ok behind Emissary first up. Selections: 11,13,8,1 Suggested Bet: EMISSARY each way Race 7 Scratchings and weather conditions crucial in this race. If I WISH I WIN gains a start he would be clear top pick. His win in easier grade here last start was that of a horse that can measure up to this. SHOWMANSHIP had been trialling well leading into his first up win in Sydney handles all track conditions. AYRTON and TUVALU face the challenge of winning this race first up but both have trialled up well. JUST FOLK gets blinkers, he would appreciate any rain and will be close to peak fitness third up. If the track gets close to the good range then I AM SUPERMAN comes right into calculations. Selections: 18,10,6,8 Suggested Bet: I Wish I win to win & Showmanship each way Race 8 CHAIN OF LIGHTNING is building an impressive record and has shown terrific versatility in her most recent runs. She’s unlikely to be improving at this stage of her campaign but she still looks the testing material. ZAPATEO went back to 1000m behind Eduardo last start following and impressive first up win at 1100m. She looks suited getting out to 1200m. EXCELIDA has been jumping out in great style and should be strong late. ARGENTIA has also been jumping out quite well. She is likely to benefit from the run but has plenty of class. SHE’S ALL CLASS improved with the blinkers on last start. Selections: 4,2,9,3 Suggested Bet: Chain of Lightning to win Race 9 IT’SOURTIME had little luck over the sprint trips last prep. He has jumped out well and should be suited by a decent tempo. ROSE QUARTZ probably doesn’t want too much rain but she’s unbeaten first up and is another to have jumped out well. CURRAN hit the line well at Group 3 level last start. IN THE BOAT did enough first up, he’s another that doesn’t want too much rain. INGRATIATING has a good first up record and has trialled nicely in Sydney. PRINCE OF BOOM didn’t have much luck last start. AMISH BOY has been umping out ok and should bet a soft run. Selections: 9,12,11,1 Suggested Bet: It’sourtime each way Market Market
