Warren Huntly’s Saturday Ballarat Preview Posted on November 18, 2022November 18, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Plenty of rain forecast during the afternoon and evening that is likely to impact the meeting. HYPOTHETICAL is building a good record and will be approaching peak fitness third up. She looks suited stepping up to 1200m and back against her own sex. DEFINING was given a solid hit out winning a recent jumpout and looks ready to go first up. BELLE ET RICHE has also jumped out well, she’ll probably settle off the speed and be hitting the line strongly as will SANTERO. DEVILS TRIANGLE brings some solid Sydney form. Selections: 6,10,11,3 Suggested Bet: Hypothetical to win Race 2 KINGS CONSORT looks well placed third up following two encouraging runs this prep, he may not have to settle as far back in the small field. DEEKAY has impressed with his two wins this campaign and can make his own luck. EL PADRINO and SHURIKEN both ran well in the same race as KINGS CONSORT last time. STREET DELIGHT chased well behind Deekay last start. Selections: 1,3,2,5 Suggested Bet: Kings Consort to win Race 3 Plenty to learn. PURE PARADISE closed off well in one of the strongest 2yo events in Victoria so far this season and has jumped out nicely recently. SASSY BOOM is one of a few debutantes to look good in recent jumpouts/trials. MALABOOM’S trial in Sydney was solid after being a bit slowly away. TABATA SET gave a great sight down the straight on debut. CAPULET had no luck on debut and could improve dramatically without surprising. Selections: 10,11,9,13 Suggested Bet: Pure Paradise each way Race 4 LIBIAMO ran well without the best of luck in a stronger race at Flemington, she should be suited by what appears to be a strong tempo. NAJEM SUHAIL will be part of that tempo but has raced himself in to form and can give a sight. ALL ABOUT EVE is a other that will appreciate a good speed up front. ICE PICK NICK has upside and has jumped out well to resume. VIVIANE was below her best last start but has jumped put well since. Selections: 14,4,16,9 Suggested Bet: Libiamo each way Race 5 Competitive race. UNANIMOUS was a horror watch at Flemington and had plenty of excuses in Sydney at his previous start. POUNDING is in the game if the rain hasn’t arrived, he’s been kept fresh since not handling the heavy track at Caulfield. TYPHOON HARMONY won this race last year and his two lead up runs have been satisfactory. BELTORO probably doesn’t want it too wet either but is going well. STAR OF CHAOS and SHARP RESPONSE are among the other chances in a deep race. Selections: 2,6,11,5 Suggested Bet: Unanimous each way Race 6 Doubt SHIBLI was best suited by leading last start and will strip fitter for that run. RIGHT YOU ARE comes though the same race and looks an obvious danger, his three runs for the new stable have been encouraging and he was well backed last start. PARISIAN DANCER is racing well, if the rain arrives that only enhances her chances. CARLISLE was able to beat Right You Are and Shibli last start so he must have claims. ROUSSEAU may be suited coming back slightly in trip. Selections: 9,8,12,4 Suggested Bet: Shibli each way Race 7 COMMANDS THE FIELD should appreciate what appears to be a strong tempo, she has jumped out well to resume and is a previous first up winner. THRONTARI is another that will appreciate a good speed up front, she’s been jumping out ok and won the last race that Commands The Field contested. PENTHOUSE has a good first up record and her form around In Secret reads well. ELITE ICON is likely to be part of the speed and will strip fitter for his first up run. DIRECT is undefeated since being gelded but has to stretch beyond 1000m. Stablemates ADAMENT, PINK CASHMERE and A LITTLE DEEP all won their maidens impressively last start and look capable of measuring up. Selections: 6,5,8,4 Suggested Bet: Commands The Field each way Race 8 BANKERS CHOICE ran well alongside I’m Thunderstruck at his first test at 2000m. He looks well placed dropping back to handicap conditions from Group 1 WFA. ATISHU was heavily backed to win last start and justified that support, she looks the main danger. If the rain has arrived, then POLLY GREY becomes a key winning hope. FOXY FRIDA was unlucky in this race last year and is capable of much better than last start. FLASH AAH backs up from Cranbourne and can handle all surfaces. Selections: 4,3,2,7 Suggested Bet: Bankers Choice each way Race 9 DO YA PUNK handles rain affected ground well and gets right down in the weights after the claim. CRESTANI also gets down in the weights and will be at peak fitness. EDISON has been jumping out well and is a blowout chance. SNAPPER bounced back to form last start and will give sight on speed. NICOLINI VITO gets winkers back on and will be strong late. Selections: 15,13,1,10 Suggested Bet: Do Ya Punk each way Race 10 DETONATOR JACK gets up in the weights and may be looking for further but he’s got a great winning habit and is sure to prove hard to beat. MUNHAMEK and GREEN FLY both ran well behind Detonator Jack last start and meet him better at the weights. RIOT AND ROSE has been off the scene a long time but has been jumping out well and is another with a great winning habit. ZAKAT, HE’S OUR BONNEVAL and THE GARDEN have claims. Selections: 1,8,11,12 Suggested Bet: Detonator Jack to win Market Market
