Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 27, 2024June 27, 2024 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 WHATARETHEODDS (1) has resumed with two 2nds from wide draws but looks the leader here and should prove very hard to beat. ROCK ME OVER (10) has a long losing sequence but looks a great place chance if he can hold on to the favourite’s back at the start. VELOCIPEDE (9) did defeat WHATARETHEODDS (1) last start but loses the barrier advantage tonight. LINEBACKER (7) is racing consistently and is up to the class rise but will need some luck from his wide draw. Tips: 1 10 9 7 Suggested Bet: WHATARETHEODDS (1) to win. Race 2 YOURE SO FINE (10) has been beaten as a $1.14 and $1.55 favourite at his last two starts but his latest effort had merit and he will be hard to beat if he sees daylight at the right time. LAMANDIER (2) led when narrowly beaten in 1.55.6 here last week and will be fitter for that effort. BENJI (8) worked hard when finishing at the tail in a Lightning Lap event but has plenty of ability and can play a part. WHOS THE DAD (11) should be close to his peak at his third run back from a spell and can surprise at big odds. Tips: 10 2 8 11 Suggested Bet: LAMANDIER (2) each way. Race 3 CONEY ISLAND LOU (5) was racing in strong company before crossing the Tasman and his recent Byford trial indicates that he should be in for a good campaign. IDEAL TOMADO (1) is a good frontrunner who led throughout here four starts back and will give a great sight. HOLY HECKA (6) has a sharp turn of foot and will be dangerous if he can get the right cart into the race. ROCKNROLL ELLIOT (2) was very impressive when beating a weaker field here last week and must be respected from his nice draw. Tips: 5 1 6 2 Suggested Bet: HOLY HECKA (6) each way. Race 4 STEEL THE SHOW (7) ran on well to finish 2md to Wildwest in 1.54.9 here last week and appeals as the one to beat despite the wide draw. JETT STAR (6) has won three of his last four starts and is ready for the rise in class. TO FAST TO SERIOUS (5) hasn’t had much luck this time in but will be charging to the line if there is a solid tempo in the early stages. THE CODE BREAKER (4) led throughout to defeat a similar field three starts back and will give plenty of cheek if he can find the front again. Tips: 7 6 5 4 Suggested Bet: STEEL THE SHOW (7) to win. Race 5 SOHO SERAPHINE (2) was beaten by race-fit mares when a close-up 4th here last week but will be better for that effort and is clearly the one to beat tonight. EVE CROCKER (5) couldn’t get into the race here last week but won her two previous starts in impression fashion and looks the main danger. WALL STREET GIRL (1) doesn’t have the gate speed to hold up from the pole but she will be in the finish if he she doesn’t finish up too far back. DAME VALOUR (8) overcame a back line draw to win in 1.54.6 at her last start but will need some luck from out here. Tips: 2 5 1 8 Suggested Bet: SOHO SERAPHINE (2) to win. Race 6 CAPTAIN BLIGH (4) has been a mixture of unlucky and disappointing recently but he is drawn to be prominent throughout tonight and gets his chance to bounce back into the winners’ circle. ETON ROCK (2) should be ready to fire at his third run back from a spell and he looks a good chance to finds the front. SOHO FIRESTONE (8) is racing well but will need the right cart into the race to help overcome the wide draw. HIGH PRICE (6) has resumed in career best form and can make his presence felt. Tips: 4 2 8 6 Suggested Bet: ETON ROCK (2) each way. Race 7 MONTANA DJ (1) made a mess of the stand at his first two starts in WA but lived up to his potential with a 1.53.1 win here last week. The rise in class is offset by the pole draw and he appeals as the one to beat. LUSAKA (7) is a versatile type who has been placed in his last seven starts including a game win here last week and should figure in the finish again. SOLESSEO MATUCA (6) had no luck at his last start but is racing very well and has the strength to be put into the race. STATE OF HEAVEN (2) is drawn to enjoy a nice run on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 1 7 6 2 Suggested Bet: MONTANA DJ (1) to win. Race 8 CHILLIN (2) was a solid 4th here last week and looks the one to beat at his third run back from a spell from his nice draw. MAJOR OVERS (3) has good gate speed and he would be hard to catch if he can cross at the start. WALSH (1) has battled bad draws at his last two starts but must be respected from the pole over the sprint trip. STAR OF WILLOUGHBY (10) will enjoy a nice run just behind the speed and can be dangerous late. Tips: 2 3 1 10 Suggested Bet: CHILLIN (2) to win. Race 9 STREET HAWK (9) won the York Cup before overcoming a slow start when a close 2nd to Two Bob Cracker at his last start and he is clearly the one to beat despite his 20m handicap. LUCAPELO (3) faced the breeze when 3rd in that event and looks a major player again. TROUBLE SUPREME (2) finished 4th in the York Cup and will give a great sight if he can step to the front. STORMYSKYES (8) has been racing well in strong mares’ company and is capable of causing an upset with the right run. Tips: 9 3 2 8 Suggested Bet: STREET HAWK (9) to win. Race 10 FLYING RUMOUR (7) finished midfield at his first run back from a spell and looks suited in this company and should prove hard to beat. FIREROCKFIREROLL (1) was first-up when a solid 3rd here last week and should lead and give them something to catch tonight. CARRERA MACH (10) is drawn to get a lovely run behind the speed and should be right in the finish. INFINITE SIGN (11) is better suited racing on the speed but can be dangerous if the race is run to suit. Tips: 7 1 10 11 Suggested Bet: FLYING RUMOUR (7) to win. Race 11 WATER LOU (6) has won her last eight on end to take her record to 17 wins from 21 career starts and should prove too good again. FLYBYE LOU (1) makes her debut and won a recent trial by 55m in 1.57.0 so she obviously has plenty of ability and looks the only danger. PRINCESS MICKAYLA (2) and STELLAR EDITION (3) are drawn to get nice runs just behind the speed and should fight out the placings. Tips: 6 1 2 3 Suggested Bet: WATER LOU (6) to win. Market Market
