Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on August 10, 2023August 10, 2023 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 CASTELLA DELLACQUA (1) recorded an impressive 1.56.5 win at her first start in WA here a fortnight ago. She displayed gate speed in NSW and should give a great sight from the pole. AUGUST MOON (4) has resumed with two impressive victories and is the obvious danger. FLAMETREE (10) has finished towards the rear at her last four starts but looks a big improver from her nice trailing draw. CABSAV (11) was sent for a spell after disappointing at her last start but has trialled nicely for her return and can figure. Tips: 1 4 10 11 Suggested Bet: CASTELLA DELLACQUA (1) to win. Race 2 ROBBIE EASTON (1) drifted in the market but led throughout in 1.55.0 here last week over this trip. He goes up considerably in class tonight but will be hard to catch if he can reproduce that effort. ARMA XFACTOR (5) won four on end to start this campaign and hasn’t had much luck at his two subsequent starts. WHOS THE DAD (7) loves this trip and has the class to overcome the wide draw. CLOUD NINE (11) was gunned down on the line here last week and can play a part from his nice trailing draw. Tips: 1 5 7 11 Suggested Bet: ROBBIE EASTON (1) to win. Race 3 MEA CULPA (1) was crossed by KIMBLE (2) two starts back when 4th to that pacer before leading throughout at his last start. He is drawn alongside his main rival tonight and will be hard to beat if he can hold up at the start. KIMBLE (2) is racing well and will be extremely hard to beat if he can cross at the start. MR FANTASTIC (6) led throughout here before running on well to finish 4th at his last and should be charging home again. ROCKABALL (4) gained a late split when a narrow winner here last week and can be in the finish again. Tips: 1 2 6 4 Suggested Bet: MEA CULPA (1) to win. Race 4 PATRONUS STAR (1) was a solid 2nd to Prince Of Pleasure at his last start and should lead and prove hard to catch tonight. MIGHTY RONALDO (2) is first-up but has trialled nicely for his return and his turn of foot makes him dangerous in any race he contests. TENZING BROMAC (6) was a very strong 2nd from the breeze here last week but is drawn poorly again. THE MUSTANG (3) is a rung below the three favourites but can be placed. Tips: 1 2 6 3 Suggested Bet: PATRONUS STAR (1) to win. Race 5 YOURE SO FINE (3) has resumed with four successive victories and was very impressive in winning here last week. He goes up in class tonight but is the best of the front-line pacers and will be hard to beat if he can find the top. HECTOR (6) won his last three starts before going for a spell and must be considered despite being first-up over this long distance. STEEL THE SHOW (9) is a classy customer who finished 4th in the Nullabor and is capable of overcoming his 30m handicap. WATCHING OUR COIN (7) has won five of his past six starts and must be respected again. Tips: 3 6 9 7 Suggested Bet: YOURE SO FINE (3) to win. Race 6 CYCLONE CHARLOTTE (5) has been ultra-impressive in winning her last two starts and is clearly the one to beat tonight. NEVERMINDTHECHAOS (9) had excuses at her first start back from a spell and would be the obvious danger if she is anywhere near her best. SPECIAL LADY (1) has been battling bad barriers recently but looks a great place chance from the pole. DONTBESILLYCHILLI (8) is racing consistently but will need some luck in running from out here. Tips: 5 9 1 8 Suggested Bet: CYCLONE CHARLOTTE (5) to win. Race 7 PETER PETRIFY (1) was well driven to win the Higgins Final here last week and the rise in class is offset by the pole draw. STREET HAWK (3) wasn’t disgraced when a strong 2nd from the breeze in quick time at his last start and looks a major player. HOPPYS WAY (2) has brilliant gate speed and he will be trying to emulate his last start all-the-way win but he meets a stronger field here. RAVEN BANNER (4) led throughout to win his first start back from a spell and maps to get a nice run in transit tonight. Tips: 1 3 2 4 Suggested Bet: PETER PETRIFY (1) to win. Race 8 WATTS UP SUNSHINE (2) has been battling bad draws and then locked wheels at a crucial stage here last week. He gets his best barrier for quite some time and appeals as the one to beat. BEAT CITY (3) caught the eye when a fast-finishing 3rd here last week and looks the main danger. FIREROCKFIREROLL (5) led from this draw last week and will give some cheek if he can cross at the start. HOTFOOT IT (1) led throughout here recently in weaker company and has options at the start. Tips: 2 3 5 1 Suggested Bet: WATTS UP SUNSHINE (2) to win. Race 9 HILLVIEW BONDI (4) has been unplaced in his last four starts but will find this easier and is drawn to control the race. MACHS BETTOR (6) was a solid 5th in the Higgins Final here last week and will appreciate the drop in class. RODASI (2) ran on nicely at his last start and will give some cheek if he can find the top. LUCKY GALLEON (10) wasn’t far away in the Higgins Final and will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. Tips: 4 6 2 10 Suggested Bet: MACHS BETTOR (6) each way. Race 10 VEGAS STRIP (4) impressed at his WA debut when he dashed home in 55.4 to defeat Artful Major and looks the one to beat here. OFF THE CHARTS (5) was a solid 5th from the breeze at his first start after a spell and looks the obvious danger but is poorly drawn. PRINCE OF PAIN (2) finished a close-up 4th at his first run back from a break and should be thereabouts. GOLDEN LODE (1) showed improvement at his third career start and can figure from the pole. Tips: 4 5 2 1 Suggested Bet: VEGAS STRIP (4) to win. Market Market
