Race 1

FASTER THAN DAD (12) resumed with a fast-finishing 2nd to Raven Banner when he started from a wide barrier. He draws the backline here but will be charging home if there is a solid early tempo. ALCOPONY (4) was a close-up 3rd in slick time at his last start and will be hard to beat if he gets the right run in transit. STAR ARMBRO (1) led throughout in 1.56.9 from this draw at his last start and should give them something to catch. INFINITE SIGN (5) has won two of his last three starts but has an awkward draw to overcome.

Race 2

DOMINUS FACTUM (6) couldn’t handle the pressure when he led and was pressured against better company at his last start but will be hard to beat if he can find the front against this field. TWOBOB CRACKER (4) ran a solid 5th in the Easter Cup here last week and will appreciate the drop in class tonight. OUR STAR WATCH (2) has been unplaced in his past 23 starts but his last effort had merit and he could be on the improve. CHEER THE MAJOR (3) possess good gate speed and can make his presence felt here.

Race 3

THE MUSTANG (3) drops in class for this assignment and should lead and prove hard to beat. ELDAYTONA (11) has been placed in five of his six starts this time in and should break back into the winners’ circle shortly. KIMBLE (10) is likely to settle three back on the pegs and will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. ROCK ME OVER (1) will enjoy a soft run on the pegs and can be placed.

Race 4

GOODFELLAZ (2) led throughout in 1.54.9 here at his last start and will be extremely hard to beat over the shorter trip if he finds the front as expected. JETT STAR (3) led and was run down by the talented El Chema at his last start and looks the obvious danger. MEA CULPA (6) has won three of his last four starts and excels over this distance but is drawn awkwardly. ACUTO (1) is likely to enjoy a soft run behind the favoured runners and can be placed.

Race 5

EL CHEMA (1) has impressed in winning his last three starts in eye-catching fashion. There are probably question marks over his gate speed and if he can handle pressure over the staying trip but he is clearly the one to beat. HECTOR (5) steps up in class for this assignment but was an impressive winner of the Easter Cup and should make his presence felt. EIGHTEEN CARAT (10) takes on the boys after winning two of the three Mares’ Classics and is suited by her soft draw. HAMPTON BANNER (2) has the gate speed to make things interesting early and could get away with some cheap sectionals if he does lead.

Race 6

MACHS LEGACY (6) was pressured in front at her first start in WA and fought on well to finish 2nd to miss Boudica. She is likely to get less pressure here if she finds the front and looks the one to beat. TAKING THE MIKI (7) resumed with two impressive victories before running a nice 3rd after blowing the start in the Easter Cup. She is back to the mobile tonight and is the obvious danger. Stablemates LET IT LINGA (2) and IM THEMIGHTYLUCY (3) were both winners in weaker company at their last starts and are drawn to be prominent.

Race 7

BEEFOUR BACARDI (7) won nine of his ten starts in his last WA campaign before disappointing at his only start in a short Victorian campaign. He resumes here for a new trainer and will be extremely hard to beat if he is anywhere near his best. LINE THE STARZZZ (3) has been placed in five of his past six starts and should be thereabouts again. POSSEIDON (1) has improved significantly to win his last two starts and must be considered from the pole. CHUMANI (2) is a reliable trotter who can be placed from his nice draw.

Race 8

STREET HAWK (1) galloped from the stand before finishing a strong 2nd in the Easter Cup after leading throughout to defeat TRICKY MIKI (6). He enjoys the barrier advantage over his main rival again and will be hard to beat if he holds up at the start. TALKS UP A STORM (4) ran a nice 2nd to Steel The Show at his last start and has the gate speed to make things interesting in the early stages. THE CODE BREAKER (2) will strip fitter for his first-up 6th to Magnificent Storm and can be placed.

Race 9

MAGNIFICENT STORM (2) has looked sharp this time in including an impressive win after starting from a wide draw at his last start. He looks the likely leader tonight and should prove very hard to catch. BETTERZIPPIT (4) has gone to a new level since joining the Grimson stable and recorded a 1.48.6 victory at Menangle at his last start. He isn’t likely to get to the pegs tonight but must be considered on his current form. LAVRA JOE (3) has led throughout to win two of his last three starts and will settle in a prominent position and make his presence felt. JUMPINGJACKMAC (5) is one-dimensional but will be charging home if the race is run to suit.

Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (2) to win.

Race 10

BLUE BLAZER (3) ran on well to finish 2nd to Eton Rock at his last start and appeals as the one to beat from his nice draw. RUN FOR MERCY (4) has been battling bad barriers and stronger fields recently and looks a major play against this line-up. BALTIC ACE (1) did win over this distance from this draw in 1.54.4 in January but doesn’t appear to be racing as well recently. BETTORSTARTDREAMING (8) is the class runner of the field and loves the sprint trip but has a wide draw to overcome.
