Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on October 14, 2021October 14, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 MACHNIFICENT (5) won four on end before not being suited in the breeze at his last start before a break. He was an impressive winner of a recent Byford trial and will be hard to hold out if gets the right run in transit. DOC HOLLIDAY (6) won three on end before losing no admirers when 3rd to Otis here last week and looks the main danger. JUST WING IT (4) had no luck at his first run back from a spell and can surprise. LEOSABI (9) has three wins and five 2nds from his last five starts but the draw makes it tough. Tips: 5 6 4 9 Suggested Bet: MACHNIFICENT (5) to win. Race 2 SHADOW ROLL (2) has been placed in three of his five runs since an all-the-way victory here in August. He looks the likely leader tonight and should prove hard to catch. ALTA INTRIGUE (5) drops in class on his recent assignments and should make his presence felt. VIVERE DAMORE (4) has had no luck in her three starts this time in and can improve. DOUBLE EXPRESSO (8) has looked better in each of her three runs back from a long break and is ready to fire but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 2 5 4 8 Suggested Bet: SHADOW ROLL (2) to win. Race 3 BORN TO BOOGIE (8) brought up her 4th win from six WA starts when running on well from the rear here a fortnight ago. She is drawn poorly again but will give a great sight. BETTORSTARTDREAMING (6) has led throughout to win two of his last four starts and will be hard to catch if he can cross at the start. ROCKABALL (4) was an upset winner in a strong field two starts back and can play a part from this draw. ANOTHER VINNIE (1) hasn’t won a race for six years but must be respected from the pole on his recent trial win. Tips: 8 6 4 1 Suggested Bet: BORN TO BOOGIE (8) to win. Race 4 WHATABRO (1) led throughout here five starts ago over this distance and should give a great sight from the pole. VESPA (2) is drawn to get a nice run just off the speed and will be hitting the line strongly. JASPERVELLABEACH (12) is back to his best form and is racing well enough to overcome the backline draw. TYLER BRETT (6) has good gate speed and will give them something to catch if he can cross at the start. Tips: 1 2 12 6 Suggested Bet: VESPA (2) each way. Race 5 VAMPIRO (6) led when run down in the shadows of the post by PERFECT MAJOR (1) last start and will be hard to beat over the sprint trip if he crosses at the start. PERFECT MAJOR (1) came from last to win that event and has a recent 1.53.4 victory over this trip and is an obvious danger. HURRICANE HARLEY (7) wasn’t far away when 5th in that event and is better suited over the shorter distance. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (2) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 6 1 7 2 Suggested Bet: VAMPIRO (6) to win. Race 6 ALTA LOUISA (7) was a bit disappointing when 5th in a stronger field at her last start but is clearly the one to beat in this line-up. SAVVY BROMAC (9) ran on well from the rear to finish 4th at her first run back from a spell and will be charging home again. TIFFANY ROSE (8) has ability and can play a part first-up if the race is run to suit. WEEWAH (1) ran a nice 2nd here last week and has a significant barrier advantage over the main chances. Tips: 7 9 8 1 Suggested Bet: ALTA LOUISA (7) to win. Race 7 IDEAL AGENT (3) has impressed in winning two of his three starts since crossing the Tasman and looks extremely hard to beat after coming up with a nice barrier here. ITSNOTOVA (2) has been unplaced at his four starts this time in but can improve from this draw. DOMINATE THE DOJO (6) was a solid 3rd at his first run back from a break and has the gate speed to lob into a nice spot. ARMA INDIE (12) raced in stronger company last time in and should be hitting the line at her first run back from a spell. Tips: 3 2 6 12 Suggested Bet: IDEAL AGENT (3) to win. Race 8 DON’T BOTHER ME NONE (6) has won eight of his 12 career starts and looks to have plenty of potential. This is his biggest test to date but his times indicate that he is ready for the rise in class. STAMFORD (4) led when a narrow 3rd here a fortnight ago and looks a major player. OTIS (7) has three wins and two 2nds from his three starts this time in but the draw has done him no favours. BURGHLEY SHARD (1) attempted to lead throughout when a narrow 2nd to OTIS (7) three starts back and will play a part from the pole. Tips: 6 4 7 1 Suggested Bet: DON’T BOTHER ME NONE (6) to win. Race 9 MIRACLE MOOSE (2) was a close-up 5th to Bletchley Park in a stronger field here last week and gets his chance from a nice draw against this line-up. ALTA BLUES (6) recorded back-to-back victories before a solid 5th to Magnificent Storm and has the strength to overcome the wide draw. BOOM TIME (5) finished just in front of MIRACLE MOOSE (2) last week and can cause a minor upset if the race is run to suit. MY CARBON COPY (3) sprinted brilliantly to defeat a weaker field here last week and can be dangerous with the right run. Tips: 2 5 6 1 Suggested Bet: MIRACLE MOOSE (2) to win. Race 10 IN THE SPOTLIGHT (8) impressed in winning all three 2YO starts, including the Diamond Classic, and is clearly the one to beat despite resuming here without a trial. THE HOPE DIAMOND (2) is an inexperience filly who looks to have her share of ability and will give them something to catch if she can find the top. JAY ELLE (4) is first-up without a trial but showed enough in her brief 2YO campaign to warrant consideration here. FREE WHEELING (6) has won two of her four race starts and won’t be far away. Tips: 8 2 4 6 Suggested Bet: IN THE SPOTLIGHT (8) to win. Market Market
