Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on November 19, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 LAVRA JOE (9) has resumed from a spell in blistering fashion, winning all four starts. He faced the breeze and nosed out ELDAYTONA (3) on the line last start and is clearly the one to beat again despite the wide draw. ELDAYTONA (3) gave a great sight when narrowly beaten last start and must be considered again from his nice draw. ROBBIE ROCKET (5) has trialled well for his return and can be dangerous if the early tempo is solid. JUMPINGJACKMAC (10) was an impressive winner on debut but is drawn awkwardly here. Tips: 9 3 5 10 Suggested Bet: LAVRA JOE (9) to win. Race 2 EXTREME PRINCE (2) ran a close-up 3rd for his new stable before finishing midfield after starting from a wide draw. He looks a good chance to find the front tonight and will give plenty of cheek in that role. TAROONA BROMAC (9) is the best horse in the field but can be hit and miss so must be taken on trust from the wide barrier. MISTER ARDEE (1) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be dangerous late. BETTOR BE OSCAR (10) disappointed at his last start but will appreciate being tucked away here and can surprise. Tips: 2 9 1 10 Suggested Bet: MISTER ARDEE (1) each way. Race 3 LIAM NEIL (1) led throughout here four and five starts back and hasn’t had much luck in his subsequent runs. He gets the pole draw tonight and can bounce back into the winners’ circle. ROMAN AVIATOR (10) ran on strongly when narrowly beaten by Gran Chico at his last start and is drawn to get a perfect run in transit. WHOZIDEAWASTHIS (6) is the proven class performer of this field but is awkwardly drawn. ARMA INDIE (4) was far from disgraced when 8th in the Norms Daughter and can play a part. Tips: 1 10 6 4 Suggested Bet: LIAM NEIL (1) to win. Race 4 BRAEVIEW BONDI (1) ran on well to finish a solid 4th to Chicago Bull here on Sunday. He is the first emergency for the Fremantle Cup and will appreciate the drop in class and pole draw tonight. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (2) has the gate speed to make things interesting early and should be right in the finish from this draw. AMERICAN BRAVE (3) has plenty of convictions but an abundance of ability and is a big watch first-up. PATRICKTHEPIRANHA (8) isn’t as well suited racing back in the field and may press forward tonight. Tips: 1 2 3 8 Suggested Bet: AS HAPPY AS LARRY (2) each way. Race 5 CHICAGO BULL (6) has won 11 of his last 12 starts to reclaim his title as WA’s best pacer. He is going to need to work in the run at some stage but still appeals as the one to beat. SHOCKWAVE (3) defeated CHICAGO BULL (6) five starts back and has finished 2nd to him in his four subsequent runs. He finally draws inside his main rival tonight and is the obvious danger. GALACTIC STAR (12) has returned to his best recently and can be the surprise packet if there is a solid early tempo. MIGHTY CONQUEROR (2) draws inside the two favourites and has proven in the past that he can improve sharply between runs. Tips: 6 3 12 2 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (6) to win. Race 6 TO FAST TO SERIOUS (1) has won 12 of his 18 career starts and resumed with an impressive victory here a fortnight ago. He goes up in class for this assignment but looks the one to beat from the pole draw. WILLIROCKNROLL (3) won four of his last five starts in Victoria in slick time and indicated that he is in for a profitable campaign with a recent Byford trial win. GRAN CHICO (5) was a strong winner from the breeze here on Sunday and should be thereabouts. ROMAN ART (2) is drawn to get a nice run and can be placed. Tips: 1 3 5 2 Suggested Bet: TO FAST TO SERIOUS (1) to win. Race 7 HEADLINE ACT (1) has been victorious in three out of the last four times she has led, with the defeat being in wet conditions. She should lead tonight and will give a great sight. THE KRAKEN (11) was a strong winner here before being beaten as an odds on favourite last week. He is drawn to get a nice run in transit and can bounce back. POISEDTOPOUNCE (2) has been beaten as a short-priced favourite at his past four starts but should be considered from this barrier. BOLTA (3) is drawn to settle close to the action and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 1 11 2 3 Suggested Bet: HEADLINE ACT (1) to win. Race 8 DISCO UNDER FIRE (1) jumped to the front in a stand on Monday and gave nothing else a chance with a 56.3 last half. He has a handicap advantage over his main rivals and should give a great sight. J B MAUNEY (10) has won four of his last six starts, all from the stand, and is capable of overcoming the 30m handicap. TRIROYALE BRIGADE (3) had a good standing start record in NZ so must be considered here. BABYFACE ADDA (7) was a good all-the-way winner on Sunday and can be in the money with the right trip. Tips: 1 10 3 7 Suggested Bet: DISCO UNDER FIRE (1) to win. Race 9 BALCATHERINE (8) was an easy all-the-way winner at her first run back from a spell and then lost no admirers when finishing 6th in the Norms Daughter. This represents a drop in class and she should prove hard to beat. SOMEBEACHPARTY (4) is a mare who keeps improving and must be considered on her win on Monday when she sprinted home in a blistering 54.1. ANGEL IN WHITE (1) was placed here last week and looks a major player from the pole. QUEEN SHENANDOAH (5) is always dangerous with the right run. Tips: 8 4 1 5 Suggested Bet: BALCATHERINE (8) to win. Race 10 STAR FROMTHEPALACE (7) has won two of her last three starts, the latest a solid 1.57.3 victory at this track. She is a versatile type and is capable of overcoming her wide draw. TIFFANY ROSE (8) crossed to the front from this draw on Friday night when finishing 4th against the boys and looks a major player here. MISSTIANO (4) has returned from a spell in great form and is drawn inside her main rivals. RUN FOR MERCY (5) was narrowly beaten as a short-priced favourite first-up and can play a part. Tips: 7 8 4 5 Suggested Bet: STAR FROMTHEPALACE (7) to win. Market Market
