The Scout: World Cup Matchday 6 Preview, 25 Nov

Group B – Wales v Iran

Gareth Bale did Gareth Bale things to rescue a point for Wales against the United States from the penalty spot. The diminutive Daniel James offered very little leading the line so that might prompt a shift to target man Kieffer Moore from the start.

Iran were terrible against England, and it’s unlikely that they will adopt such a negative approach now that they are bottom of the group with a bad goal difference. There were positives from the defeat though, in particular a quality goal from Mehdi Taremi, so expect improvement in this one.

DRAW @ $3.20*

Group A – Qatar v Senegal

Following a resounding loss in their opener, the pressure is on Qatar to deliver a performance in front of their own fans. However, they lacked genuine quality at both ends of the pitch and it will be their underdoing in each game.

Senegal went toe-to-toe with the Netherlands before fading badly so they need a win to give their chances of making the knockout stage a boost. They registered 15 shots in the game, although only 4 hit the target. If their shooting boots are on this time, they will get the three points.

WIN Senegal @ $1.60*

Group A – Netherlands v Ecuador

Despite beating Senegal, the Netherlands huffed and puffed for most of the contest and looked lifeless in attack at times with Vincent Janssen a non-factor. If Memphis Depay is fit to start, it makes them a much more dynamic side.

Ecuador are brimming with confidence after the win over Qatar, and two-goal hero Enner Valencia is expected to play despite suffering a knee sprain. They looked strong defensively, continuing a trend that goes right back to the qualifiers.

Very little separates the sides on paper and that is set to continue on the pitch.

DRAW @ $3.55*

Group B – England v USA

England were fantastic going forward to score 6 against Iran. There were frailties defensively though, and the USA will put up more resistance. Harry Kane is available for selection despite suffering a foot injury.

The USA looked very dangerous from wide areas against Wales but faded towards the end of the game, conceding a late penalty which made it 1-1. If they fall behind early against England, it will be tough to come back considering the difference in depth from the bench.

England will make it two wins from two games, but they won’t have it all their own way.

WIN England @ $1.50*
