The Scout: World Cup Matchday 16 Preview, 5 Dec Posted on December 5, 2022March 10, 2023 | Posted by The Scout Round of 16 (3) Japan v Croatia Japan exceeded expectations in the group stage and could cause another surprise here. Ko Itakura picked up a yellow card suspension last time out, so Takehiro Tomiyasu is the likely replacement. Takefusa Kubo is doubtful with a muscle complaint. Croatia have a fully fit squad to pick from meaning there is a strong chance that they will field an unchanged line up. A lot will hinge on how well Luka Modric, Marcelo Brozovic and Mateo Kovacic assert themselves in midfield. This game could go to extra time given how little there is between the teams on paper. WIN Japan @ $3.90* Brazil v South Korea Both Gabriel Jesus and Alex Telles have been ruled out for the remainder of the tournament with knee injuries, but Neymar has been cleared to return following his ankle issue. A largely second-string side lost to Cameroon in the final group game so those coming back in for this clash will be well rested. Eder Militao and Danilo are the likely selections at full back. Hwang Hee-chan has been hampered by a hamstring problem but he came off the bench to score the winner for South Korea against Portugal. It may be too soon for him to start though. Kim Min-jae was rested due to a minor calf complaint and his return to the line up is a big positive for the team. WIN Brazil @ $1.24* *Odds correct as at 9am, 5th December 2022. Market Market
