The Scout: UFC Usman vs Covington 2 Posted on November 4, 2021November 4, 2021 | Posted by The Scout Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington Kamaru Usman (19-1) defends his welterweight title in a highly anticipated rematch (and grudge match) against Colby Covington (16-2) in the main event of UFC 268. Usman comes into this fight having won 18 straight fights, with the last four being title defenses. Covington is on a seven fight winning streak of his own, but has fought just once since these two first met back in 2019, a comfortable win over Tyron Woodley last year. The first encounter between this pair was a total brawl. The bad blood was there to see as they exchanged strikes in an all-out war. Usman finally wore Colby down, breaking his jaw (allegedly) winning by stoppage in the fifth round. Though the fight-style surprised many (as both men have a wrestling background), I’m expecting a similar approach from both fighters in the rematch. Covington is a seriously good fighter who utilises his endurance and cardio to put constant pressure on his opponents while unloading a high volume of strikes and takedown attempts. Unfortunately for Colby, Usman might be the only person in the division who can match him on these fronts. Since beating Covington in 2019, Usman has gotten even better (much better) as a fighter. He has ascended to the top of the UFC’s pound for pound rankings off the back of three wins since the first matchup. The biggest improvement to his game has been his striking, which has seen him score brutal finishes over Jorge Masvidal and Gilbert Burns in his last two fights. Suggested Bet: Kamaru Usman To Win By Finish @ $2.30* *Odds correct as at 12pm, 4th November 2021. Market Market
