Scott Embry’s Wednesday Pinjarra Preview Posted on August 19, 2025August 19, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 FINE STAR was thrown in the deep end on debut into the Listed Supremacy Stakes and finished fourth behind Luana Miss, Yes Queen (Crystal Slipper Stakes winner) and Talkanco (Gimcrack & Karrakatta Plate winner). She’s trialled well recently at Belmont and while she’s drawn towards the flat it’s at least a small field for her to navigate. DESERT LIFE, COSMIC TREAT and OLD CHAP ran into Perth Stakes winner Castle Road first-up on a Saturday and they’ll all find this lengths easier, as well as having the invaluable straight 1000m experience. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – FINE STAR WIN RACE 2 NICCIMOTA has only won one race in her life and it was down the 1000m straight when leading against the outside fence. This is an identical set up for her here second-up after trying hard when run down late by Ginger Morpheus. She’s always vulnerable late but should be in front for a long, long way. SILVER LIVIA crossed, led and won on debut and is drawn right alongside her. They can control the race as a pair. BRAZEN BID has finished second to West Star over 1000m. Has to have some claims? PRINCE bolted in on the Fibre Sand but how will that form line-up? Numbers: 4 – 7 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – NICCIMOTA WIN RACE 3 PLAYING FREE was run off his legs on debut at 1000m and then second-up to 1200m was only run over late by Saam Time Lucky and Take The Field. When you compare that to the other fancy in Nine Ball who was run down by Romance Calling and Toscano it has to be viewed as the stronger form reference. Blinkers off, visors on suggest that the stable thought he was waiting for them and hopefully here he can lead and win. NINE BALL was backed into $1.24 off the back of a hot trial but had absolutely nothing to offer late when challenged. She’s better than that? AUTHORATIVE and HELLS CITI are long time maidens but are going well. Numbers: 15 – 8 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – PLAYING FREE WIN RACE 4 CHOUX SHOE had the back of Millstee in running last week and was unable to bridge the margin over the concluding stages, but 7 days later she is drawn a far better gate to get a far more economical run in transit. Has a handy turn of foot for a C3 1600m race and saved up for one late run at them can burst through. RANDOM REWARDS won a C3 four starts ago and her last effort on a Saturday in a 60+ Graduation which was dominated on speed was excellent. Obvious danger. DESERT EDGE wants 2000+ but actually held his own fresh. YOUGIVEMECHILLS does no work. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – CHOUX SHOE WIN RACE 5 CHAMPAGNE CRUSADER is brilliantly weighted after the claim for Jefferson Tsang who rides for his boss Mr Simon Miller. He really improved with the blinkers on when winning his maiden and then lumped 60kg in a 3 year old 0MWLY. Drops to 54.5kg here in a C1 and should be tucked away midfield with cover throughout. Nice race for him and goes around eachway. ALMA MATER will find this easier than his last three in 3 year old Saturday and C3 company. No Yorga Pride or Snow Gods in this. TALK TO WYN can lead and give cheek. CROWS won mighty soft last start. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – CHAMPAGNE CRUSADER WIN RACE 6 CLIMB ON TOP and JUST ADORABELLE were in the same race on 19 July when finishing third and fourth respectively behind Little Silver. There’s a half kilo in favour of CLIMB ON TOP and he’s going to hold a much better spot in running from his barrier compared to the mare. That could prove the difference late. JUST ADORABELLE is going super and with clear galloping room in the home straight probably wins last start. Deserves to pinch one. CANNY CONI hasn’t won a race in over 1000 days but if she reproduces her last start effort she’ll be going close. GALAXY AFFAIR has come back down a few ratings points recently. Numbers: 1 – 11 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – CLIMB ON TOP WIN RACE 7 ELITEONE has raced in higher grade his entire 13 start career. He’s never raced at midweek level in his life and after the claim for Jefferson he’s only got 58.5kg and has trialled well enough for his return. At the end of last prep he was 3L off horses like Cosmic Crusader, Keep Attacking, Brave Spirit, Wubin Gold, Esprit Garcon, Watch Me Rock & Chollima. Great placement. GOLD MAKER has put the writing on the wall in two runs back. Few horses make up as much ground as he did last start at the Belmont 1000. PERFECT CHANT has a tongue tie and a cross-over noseband added after a disappointing return. COUNTESS OF KENNA will need a big ride from Tash. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – ELITEONE EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,7 2,6,7 1,10,11 1,3,4,5,9,11 Market Market
