Scott Embry’s Wednesday Pinjarra Preview Posted on April 23, 2024April 23, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 KINGS HONOUR was run down first-up by Jaz Session who was backed off the boards in a 3 year old 0MWLY down the straight last Thursday when scoring impressively to go two from two this preparation. Makes the form look good, benefits from the straight 1000 experience and should jump, hug the outside fence and from there he’s the one to beat. But you’d expect he’s <$1.35? ROCKING GEM is the only danger on paper off the back of a nice trial win. She did race against King’s Honour on debut and she finished 3L off him. AIN’TNOCUREFORLOVE and I’M NIPOTE can fight out the minor in a thin race. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – KINGS HONOUR WIN RACE 2 LUNCH IN PARIS has blinkers on for the first time and can settle closer from a more favourable draw. She also drops back into a maiden after contesting a 3 year old 0MWLY at her first-up outing. Back in grade, shades, barrier and a race without a lot of depth – she’ll be understandably popular with punters. ALIEN CLOVIS has gone 1400 to 1800 to 1600 to 1300 and now to 1200 over the last few months. Still trying to figure him out. FLINDERS LANE was good first-up last preparation in the Playing Rio / Alaskan / Own The Queen / Watch Me Rock maiden. Solid trial. DEEP DISCRETION next best. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – LUNCH IN PARIS WIN RACE 3 KINGS SALUTE comes through the Richanco race, with that galloper since winning a C1 after being backed into $1.60 and the second horse Olivia’smemumma annihilated in betting and scoring down the straight in a maiden on Sunday. KING’S SALUTE sat three deep the trip in that event and never gave it away at any stage. Now draws better and looks hard to hold out. SASSY SKYE resumed without a trial over 1406m in a race where the leader rolled (overall time 3.5L faster than maiden average). Kept coming under pressure and was a ‘be on me next start’ effort. GODLESS STORM looked good at trials. IMPOSSIBLE DREAM finished off well in the Richanco race. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – KINGS SALUTE WIN RACE 4 SANDFIRE ROSE went down fighting last start behind Beau Talk and looks like she’ll appreciate getting out to a mile. She’s drawn in barrier 12 of 12 (there’s an emergency to come out) and while it looks messy on paper initially the more you look into the race the more it lacks any real speed o pressure. Thinking that she can almost cross and lead them and from there would be very hard to get past. KING KAWANA wasn’t disgraced behind Cruise To Rio / Sassy Skye and we get a sighter into that form in Race 3. WARNING SHOT looks like he’ll get out over 2000m+. Still warming up. WHAITIRI ran well last Thursday but is a 50 start maiden. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – SANDFIRE ROSE WIN RACE 5 LORD RANDOLPH produced a massive effort first-up last campaign over 1650m when sitting three and four deep throughout and somehow still managing to hold on and run third behind Kisses From Kelly and Prophet and Power. Hasn’t trialled this campaign but Summer Dickson can produce them fresh. Bit watch. CRUISE TO RIO produced a gritty win second-up over 1400m in a fast run maiden. This is another step up for her – an extra 200m and an extra 2kg, however, she’s struck a relatively thin line-up and gets all the favours drawn barrier 1. ROYAL ELITE has put together two encouraging runs recently. MR BLING was a nice return. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – LORD RANDOLPH EACHWAY RACE 6 BIG SWOOP is one of many chances in a wide open staying contest over 2300m. Thought his last 200m behind Tallangatta and Fioreyes suggested that he would appreciate additional ground and from barrier 1 Lucy Fiore can enjoy a soft run leader’s back behind speed horses like Arnray, Blue Card and Fat Roy Slim and then work her way into the clear on straightening. Not much between the top 5/6 here. GOLD FRIARS has raced in higher grade at his last 12 outings dating back to his last win in March 2023. Grinding type suited to 2300. FAT ROY SLIM hasn’t had the best of luck recently. MISS INTENTION will run home late. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – BIG SWOOP EACHWAY RACE 7 PLATINUM SHOT split Bleecker Street and stablemate Madame Magic last start in the Batavia Sprint at Geraldton on Cup Day. That was her first attempt at 1400m and she certainly ran through the line strongly. She’ll get a near identical run here and this looks to be a weaker contest than the Batavia. Nice set up for her with even luck on straightening. KERMIT’S LUCK is first-up at 1400m and did bolt in over 1300 on debut last campaign. That was a Soft6 so possibly a query on the form reference. DIAMOND ROCKS gets out in trip after attacking the line last start. LIEUTENANT DUNBAR went well last start. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – PLATINUM SHOT WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 4,5,9 3,4,6 1,2,3,6,8,9,12 4,5 Market Market
