Scott Embry’s Wednesday Pinjarra Preview Posted on March 29, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SAINTLY CITY is speedy and drawn to follow the outside rail. That’s an ideal scenario in these 1000m straight races at Pinjarra. With jump and run tactics likely to be employed he looks like he will take serious running down. MINNO has the invaluable 1000m straight experience which should put her in good stead to break through. No star but drawn towards the outside fence and is seemingly enjoying being brought back to the sprint trip. MADAM KISSES has trialled like a filly who would be winning first-up for Bernie Miller and Patrick Carbery. Is drawn on the ‘wrong’ side so will take a seriously good steer. ALSEPHINA got going late in her recent trial under little riding. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 10 – 9 Suggested Bet – SAINTLY CITY WIN RACE 2 WOMMEL WOCK was plunged in betting last week in what should prove a strong form reference race (Rolled Gold, Victory Vixen, Wommel Wock and Heavenly Sky all look to have their fair share of ability) and this all age maiden is weaker than what he contested 6 days ago. Jury is out on both Bentley Beau and Snip Of Glory so he really does get his chance on the quick back-up. BENTLEY BEAU promised to win a maiden all last preparation but lacked a killer blow. SNIP OF GLORY was solid at her return to racing. Drawn awkwardly but can sustain a run. ATABOY CHARLIE had excuses on debut. Following up on his nice trials. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – WOMMEL WOCK WIN RACE 3 PLEASE GOD will need to reproduce last start’s effort here and burn across from the ouside gate and find a position over the speed. Thought her effort to breeze outside of emerging 3 year old The Coolakin King was excellent and there’s every chance that Holly Watson gets across to a commanding position in running. FIELD OF BATTLE was a nice trial and then was thrown into the deep end on debut when striking a sharp 3yo 0MWLY field that contained Harmika and Otheroneson. This is far, far easier. MOJO RHYTHM was strong in two of his three runs last campaign. Shouldn’t be a maiden too much longer. CHANG MAN has mixed his form so far. Has some ability. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – PLEASE GOD WIN RACE 4 STRIKE NOW looks the kind of horse who is likely to appreciate the long straight at the Pinjarra Scarpside where Brad Rawiller can sit him back in the field and let the race unfold before putting him through his gears. Ran into a nice one last start in Buster Bash who went around favourite in a 72+ on Saturday. Nice race for him. KEYTRADE was unsuited to racing in the breeze last start. Last time he raced with cover he bolted in. REGAL CITY was a strong return and will only get better as they step him out over further and further. ART ADMIRER looked to have found his race on Sunday before the races were abandoned. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – STRIKE NOW WIN RACE 5 BAMBUN BOY looks to have found his race on paper. Has blinkers added to his gear for the first time and the way he’s racing he looks to be screaming out for every inch of 1600m. If he leaves cleanly then he looks to land in the best position in running he has all campaign against the weakest opposition he has seen all preparation. Lovely combination and should go well. MASARU was enormous last start tramping wide and just kept coming. Drawn to box seat in this. FRECH has put together two highly encouraging runs so far in his career. JUST JERRY will need it to be turned into a staying test. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – BAMBUN BOY WIN RACE 6 SPICY DANCER looked a special from the trials first-up and yet blew like the wind late in betting. Was into $1.90 an hour before jump time, opened $2.15 on the WOP 15 minutes before they went and then by the time they loaded him into the gates he was out beyond $3. Never looked like being beaten in the run and looks a 1000m straight track specialist. CITY REGAL is another one of David Harrison’s who fly down the straight (thinking Galaxy Cat, thinking Al Quepone). Worth following his stable down the straight 1000 alone. SO BIRIKKINO was a super sharp trial. Can he charge across and find a position against the outside fence? Trialled like a horse who would be winning. ELEMENTARY HOLMES brings intrigue at his WA debut. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – SPICY DANCER WIN RACE 7 JADAVI was utterly enormous last start. She’s actually out of the picture in the replay at the 250m marker when Keshaw Dhurun attempted to come inside horses and got badly held up. Once she got out she savaged the line (again). Her only run at Pinjarra Scarpside was unbelievable and she’s a 7 year old mare in career best form. If she stays the 2300m she’s very hard to beat. OFF WEGO won the Esperance Cup in strong fashion and looks like he’ll stay the trip. If he can blend in midfield with cover he’ll be there in the finish. BARONOVA hasn’t had any luck at her two outings for Grant Williams. FLOAT OUR BOAT will appreciate not having Beaucount in the race. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – JADAVI WIN RACE 8 PICK YOUR BATTLES likely sits on the tow ball of main danger and likely favourite My Mate for the entirety of the race and then looks to work off his heels on straightening. Lovely map for him and while he’s a 7 year old he seems to have worked through his issues and is ready to win a few races for his patient connections. MY MATE is the kind of horse who looks capable of going through the grades. Trialled really well for his new stable and then was produced first-up down the 1000m straight and after copping a bump out of the gates looked all at sea and completely lost. Last start was back to his best and dominated from start to finish. He’ll roll to the top and dictate again. CORNFLOWER is an ultra consistent mare who is rarely far from the winner. LORDHELPMERUN finished off really well last Wednesday through traffic. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – PICK YOUR BATTLES WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2 1,2,3,4,5,6 1,2,3,4,5,8,11 1,3,4,6 Market Market
