Scott Embry’s Wednesday Geraldton Preview Posted on February 4, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 AWAY WE GO looks to have a class edge on moderate opposition here. First-up only beaten 5.5L by Indian Pacific, Jenja and Guesteen and then second-up beaten 9L but in a race dominated from the front by Excellent Dream. 1200 suits, inside gate suits and Joey Azzopardi on means he should be winning. BRICK SHORT was not disgraced on debut and improves for the outing. OUR MATE BOOTS comes across to sit on speed but has had his chances. CHARGED FLAME should go better than last start. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – AWAY WE GO WIN Race 2 MORDOR looks a stand out. He lead them up first-up at Pinjarra over 1300m and was only run down by Peters 3 year old Dark Mission, Sea Waif who had been around the place and subsequent maiden winner Puckapunyal. Should cross Syrianos and it’s game over. TRUE ORA trialed well enough to test late but looks like she’ll concede him a couple of lengths turning for home. SYRIANOS should box seat and run a place. PAGANI next best. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – MORDOR WIN Race 3 HUSSTAR has run third at each of her three outings to date. Could be a big day early for Joey Azzopardi and this is another plumb ride. No surprise to see him kick out to lead and take control of a weak maiden. MISS ZEDEL has done nothing wrong in either start and has been catching the eye. GLAMOUR BELLE finished off well first-up. LAMBEK is not the worst. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – HUSSTAR WIN Race 4 MARLIZE went close last start and then unsuccessfully protested against the winner. That race was run almost 3L faster than average and looks the best form reference in the race. Drawn a plumb gate and looks another fav who should salute. LOOKUSOVER drawn to box seat can give this a shake. WILDONBROOK resumes for a new stable and can sit over the speed. BITOVEMU was fresh last start and can be forgiven after racing wide. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – MARLIZE WIN Race 5 DANEHILL MATILDA was given every chance last start by apprentice Ramoly but is probably better suited in a 70+ 1400 than a 64+ mile. Going to give him a go here in an even race with the senior rider back aboard. Should be ready fourth up. KLEVA KEZZA is well placed in this country ratings race by an astute yard. Her trial was solid behind Lipstick Flickers and she draws a gate. RAPID ASSET was well found last start when recording his first win in 1000 days. PUSH TO PASS is a nice ride for 4kg claimer Madi Derrick. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – DANEHILL MATILDA EACHWAY Race 6 ANGRY ANNIE missed the kick, sat almost three deep the trip, wobbled to the middle of the track and still waltzed in last start. If Derrick can get her out she should simply be too classy. KENYLUCK will make her earn the win. Going particularly well and is the likely leader. VITAL BLAST will open almost double figures for a horse with nearly exclusively metro form. REIDY is bursting to win a race. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – ANGRY ANNIE WIN Race 7 FREEDOM BY CHOICE steps up to 1800m and was strong last start when sitting right over the top of a hot speed (6L faster than average first 1000) and fighting on into third beaten under a length. Gets 2kg on the favourite and should be eachway. SUMMIT TRIAL went off the boil badly for around 5 months but is back in a rich vein of form. Always had the ability to be a city horse. FOUR LETTER WERD is going well but finding ways to get beaten. AMAVENITA should box seat a fast race. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – FREEDOM BY CHOICE EACHWAY Race 8 RED EPIC has been enormous at his last four or five runs when left out in the cheap seats and battling on bravely into minor placings. Finally draws a gate and if he jumps cleanly really does deserve to win a C1 race after his recent performances. FAMILY DISCUSSION has not been racing well but Peter Hall could be the man to turn him around. TESTA DE LAGO is every chance of breaking through in this weaker company. ACROSS THE SEA not impossible at a big price. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – RED EPIC WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,8,9 2,3,7 1,2,3 1,2,3,4 Market Market
