Scott Embry’s Thursday Albany Preview Posted on February 4, 2020February 5, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 MOAMA ROSE has been placed at three of her five starts as a youngster and boasts placings behind Naughty By Nature, Belle of Liberty and My Fair Ballentine. She looks exceptionally well placed into an Albany maiden fresh. ROYAL WHISPER trialed like a horse with the ability to break maiden status on debut. ERISTIC was poor first-up. Efforts last preparation were far stronger. UNIVERSAL STAR could get under the guard. First-up, no trial, new yard. Keep safe. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – MOAMA ROSE WIN Race 2 POWDERBELLE has had 14 chances to break maiden status and is certainly no star but actually ran really well last start when dropping back to 1000 only beaten 5L behind Forest War, Guesteen and Indian Pacific. Gets another chance here. ULTIMATE DESIRE has trialed fairly on a number of occasions. Weak maiden and every chance from the draw. MAGIC LADY has been giving cheek and get a 3kg claim. AMAZING LOVE next best. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – POWDERBELLE WIN Race 3 MISS MARIETTA was ridden cold last start from a wide gate and was absolutely charging late after being planted deep the trip. Was a wonderful effort and this is a weaker race. Ryan Hill makes a rare venture to Albany and this is why. THE REAL SEPOY is a better horse than what he showed last two runs. AMBER HIGHWAY drops back in trip after reasonable efforts in the staying races. TRIGGERFISH sat over a slow tempo last start and couldn’t get the job done. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – MISS MARIETTA WIN Race 4 TRANQUILLA SUNRISE is in a purple patch of form and absolutely smashed the clock last start when never looking like being run down. If Beau Edwards can get him out and find the front he’ll take real catching. JUST ACT NATURAL jumps off the page back into a c70+ ratings race. Has contested exclusively tougher races for the last 3 years. DAM READY is not going well but can bounce back. SIR SNUGALOT next best. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – TRANQUILLA SUNRISE WIN Race 5 IBIZA takes running down over the 1000m scamper. Kristy Bennett is riding very well and knows this mare intimately. If they let her find the fence she’ll take catching. PINK ‘N’ GRAY has blinkers on, drops in grade and importantly drops back in trip after looking to just grind over 1200. ROUND THE POINT is as honest and consistent as they come. DANEHILL STORM next best on speed. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – IBIZA WIN Race 6 APOLLO backs up off 7 days from a race run almost 6L faster than average. He did well to run third last start when Tranquilla Sunrise had them chasing a long way out. This is a more suitable race. LITTLE PUNGA is in form and could find the front from the inside gate. TIME TO HUNT can gallop but obviously has a few issues. Can mix his form and kept fresh here. THE GOSPEL SIN can run a race at a price. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – APOLLO WIN Race 7 COLD AS COLD is a borderline metro horse. When he is on song he can reel off some extremely strong sections. Steve Wolfe’s team is flying and fresh here he can zap them. BELLA LUCIANA comes from a hot Lark Hill trial that contained Cryptic Wonder, Catherine Wheel and Illustrious Tycoon. SAX ON QUE was simply run off his feet last week behind Tranquilla Sunrise. DELANEY has been teasing punters for 18 months. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – COLD AS COLD WIN Race 8 DEFINATLY was eye catching first-up over 1450 when charging through the line in a 70+. Then went to town and didn’t get much luck or a race pattern to suit in a slowly run affair and then was hitting the line as well as anything last in a reasonable form reference race behind Mass Effect and Proxy beating home War Ksar. MASS EFFECT draws poorly but is flying. MR PAGO rarely runs a bad race. NOT AGAIN KEN is quirky but has the ability. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – DEFIANTLY WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,5 2,5 2,3,4,6 5,7,8 Market Market
