Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on April 27, 2021April 27, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BIG SCREEN simply ran himself into the ground last start. First 1000m 11L faster than C1 average and then was running on empty from the top of the straight. Had to be fired up to cross last start whereas here he should bounce on the lead without any pressure. If Kyra Yuill can keep him together he’ll take catching on a track which should suit those on speed. CHICLETT has the best race form of the field by lengths. The small field suits but she’ll still need to work her way through them. THE VERDICT looks like she’ll stay all day. Gritty win last start. PICCOLA SIGNORA won well last week against limited opposition. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – BIG SCREEN WIN RACE 2 TIMELY OUTBURST looked the park at trials before being unveiled down the Pinjarra straight on debut. Effortless win by over 2.5L in slick time and immediately tipped out for a spell by an astute yard. Recent trial was sensational and she looks to have a bright future. STRIKE drops back in grade and back in weight. If he doesn’t show up here it’ll be back to the drawing board for Team Gangemi. APPLE SCHNAPPS was disappointing last start. Was far better first-up at 1000. FEMME PUISSANTE has run into two of the strongest C1s of the season so far this prep. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – TIMELY OUTBURST WIN RACE 3 BUZZOOM was well found in the market on debut and let down powerfully to score an emphatic victory. Has race experience on her side, has a far better barrier and while this is a deep 2 year old midweeker she looks more than capable of going back to back. RUTHLESS TYCOON has looked the part at trials. Ultra-professional, on speed and yet to be fully tested. Hard not to like what we’ve seen. PONYO went faster on the same day at trials when allowed to stride by Kate Southam. Excellent pick-up ride for Kyra Yuill and should make her presence felt. DADIRRA was completely luckless on debut when never really getting clear air. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 10 – 9 Suggested Bet – BUZZOOM WIN RACE 4 WAR WARRIOR should enjoy a soft run leader’s back on the tow ball of fellow fancy Famous Jurney. From there he looks like being afforded every chance in running and the way he’s raced suggests that 1400m will suit him down to the ground. UNI QUEEN is a 2 year old taking on the older horses and was an impressive trial winner before putting the writing on the wall first-up when charging home late. RED CADILLAC didn’t beat a horse home last start but in a strong provincial maiden. Sneaks under the guard. FAMOUS JURNEY gets his chance and is slowly but surely improving. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – WAR WARRIOR WIN RACE 5 HOW’S THE SERENITY simply jumps off the page from a form perspective. First-up winner when sitting three deep the trip no cover and then pushed highly progressive 3 year old Kaptain Kaos in a Saturday 3 year old handicap. Drops back from a 62+ into a 64+ and from the draw lands one out, one back. Her race to lose. BEAU ZOOM is proving a frustrating horse to follow. Clearly has ability but every now and then puts in an absolute shocker. Should lead and roll. EXCELESTIAL was thrown in the deep end last start and was run off her legs by Clairvoyance and Co. CHIX CHATTER is going alright. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – HOW’S THE SERENITY WIN RACE 6 ELIMINATE and JUST A PINCH are a pair of 3 year old fillies who both look like Saturday types. ELIMINATE could not have been more impressive on debut when shooting up the inside to score before going round second favourite behind Dom to Shoot in a Saturday 3 year handicap. Was freshened and thrown in the deep end into the Burgess Queen, Champion Fillies and WA Guineas. 1000m may be on the short side for her but her recent trial was very sharp. JUST A PINCH should tuck away just in behind speedy types Lies N Deception and Wiener Waltz. Going super and the form around her is holding up. HIGHLAND BEAT has contested exclusively 72+ & 78+ races since arriving in WA. Brilliant placement. FOREST WAR is likely to tramp deep again. Talented horse who races without luck. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – ELIMINATE WIN RACE 7 SENTIMENTAL QUEEN looks the kind of mare who is ready to go through the grades after a spell. Had a long preparation when last in work (including a stable change) and yet held form throughout. Known as a stayer but her maiden win was authoritative at 1400 and her recent 950m trial was highly encouraging. Looks a race where they will run along (Al Magico & Oihana) and she can gun them down late. AL MAGICO is a danger if crossing Oihana in the early stages. Has run some big races when leading. OIHANA did it tough last start. She’s hitting form. WINNIE’S WINE doesn’t win out of turn but is going well. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 8 – 10 Suggested Bet – SENTIMENTAL QUEEN WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,3,8,10 5 1,6,8 1,3,8 Market Market The Black Hearts are WA’s team in The Racing League – the world’s first horse racing league.
