Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on March 26, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 ACTION FIGURE was freshened up and ran a nice race over 1200m last start. There are 3 last start winners in this field and he is not one of them but is the one who looks best suited at a mile and from the draw. ROCK THIS COUNTRY jumps up sharply in grade but has run three equally impressive races so far this campaign. I AM SPARTACUS looks like getting it all his own way in front. SHUWISH beat weak older opponents last start, interesting to see if the form holds. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – ACTION FIGURE WIN Race 2 I’M PRETTY was a big drifter first-up in a race which looked unsuitable on paper. Gets blinkers, gets Pike and gets out to a far more suitable trip. Slipped quite badly into the home corner and finished off well once balanced. DIVINE QUEST got a long way back first-up and was charging late. Impressive effort and draws far softer here. KENYLUCK backs up off 7 days and the stable is in white hot form. Can’t be discounted. VEEBEE comes out running from an awkward draw to sit on speed. Numbers: 13 – 12 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – I’M PRETTY EACHWAY Race 3 MY DEMI is again perfectly placed. Similar scenario to when she was victorious 7 starts ago when dropping in grade sharply. Two starts ago she finished second to Fabergino. That race has produced subsequent winners Hoboken and Just A Fluke. Only 5kg above the race minimum, very hard to beat. ROUTE EIGHTY EIGHT should get a lovely run along the fence and looks the danger. STIRLING ESTATE has been racing well and should find the fence. PARTY NIGHT takes on the older horses and looked sharp in a recent trial for a new stable. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – MY DEMI WIN Race 4 GUNS OF NAVARONE has been contesting exclusively harder all preparation. This is a strong 58+ but from the gate should be winding up three deep with cover and can prove too classy late. DON’T FUSS has run two big races this campaign. Big weight, tough gate but going well. SPEEDING COMET falls into a winnable race. Form has tapered off to an extent but no surprise to see him win. DAWN MISSION is racing well and is yet another live chance in a tough race. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – GUNS OF NAVARONE EACHWAY Race 5 ACERMETRIC was big in defeat last start. Sitting outside the leader in a fast run race. That form has produced a Bunbury Cup winner and this is a drop in grade and a weaker field. Looks the one. SPEEDING BULLET went well first-up after being a fair way off them. Shades on, improves again here. JACKA’S MOB will be winning races this preparation when he can lead at his own leisure. EYE ART won a moderate maiden impressively last start and should relish the step up in trip. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – ACERMETRIC WIN Race 6 HIGH ENERGY comes from the 64+ 2400m race which has already proven itself to be a good form reference. Stafford’s Lad and Upward Others are both subsequent winners and High Energy was as good as both of them. Dropping in grade he will need to lump the weight but picks himself. UNENDING has been building towards what she did last start. Can definitely go on with it here. Looks the big danger. WE’LL MEET AGAIN should get it soft. BRONZE WING will keep coming. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – HIGH ENERGY WIN Race 7 PATRISTIC is more than capable of running a big race fresh. Last campaign first-up won a Saturday metro maiden off the back of a strong trial. Recent Belmont Park trial was very good. DUCK DUCK GOOSE was good first-up against a nice filly in Bedouine Belle but will be pretty short. OVER THERE won down the straight like she’ll be winning a fair few more. GOOD FORTUNE has done nothing wrong all campaign. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet – PATRISTIC EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) FLD 1 1,7 FLD Market Market
