Scott Embry’s Tuesday Ascot Preview Posted on November 4, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 ZENAZE was ridden forward at this first-up run and didn’t seem to appreciate being positioned quite so close to the speed. From the draw he can come out neutral and look to track up three deep with cover. Worth another crack. WEONA BRUTE has changed stables and trialed well for a return to the races. The pair he split at Lark Hill both went ordinary on debut but he should get every chance from the draw. YULONG ROCKSTAR showed toe in a recent trial at Lark Hill. CORNFLOWER is better than her first-up run suggests. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – ZENAZE WIN Race 2 JENJA is extremely well placed back into 3 year old OMWLY company. Strong winner two starts ago at Northam and then was far from disgraced when running a gallant sixth in the 3 Year Old Classic, a field containing Jericho Missile, Dig Deep, Amelia’s on Fire, Celebrity Queen and other top notch juveniles. Needs luck from the draw but should be hard to hold out. VICTORY SHOT is a well related filly on debut and has trialed up nicely. Shows speed and should give this a shake. DOWNFORCE comes out running. SAUVEGARDE has shown above average ability at trials. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – JENJA WIN Race 3 RAPISARDA looks capable of making Saturday grade with natural improvement this campaign. Went through the lower grades quickly last prep and trialed up very nicely. Should find a position over the speed and run a race. SUPREME FORCE has contested almost exclusively tougher races than this in the last 12 months. Trialed well for a return to the races and while 1000 is on the short side he has a big turn of foot. CLASSIC CHANT toyed with moderate opposition at Northam but is improving. NOBEL TIME won well at Northam and was scratched Saturday to save for this. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – RAPISARDA EACHWAY Race 4 REWRITE THE STARS was stiff to run into a quality 3 year old like Windstorm last time out. Maiden win was strong, brave in defeat last start and now draws to sit in the box seat again. Should go very close. HE’S A GUNSLINGER looks to have a motor and should only improve with experience being a big, immature animal. Draws well and first-up effort strong. MEGACHINO was able to lead last start and that seems the key to his progression. Expecting Knuckey to come across from the wide draw. ADMIRATION STREET can run a race fresh. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – REWRITE THE STARS WIN Race 5 INDOMINUS vs SUPERSTORM looks an intriguing contest on paper. Only 3.5kg between them in a compressed weight scale and have a lot of time for the pair. Expecting them to make their runs to together and siding with INDOMINUS who has been excellent at all three career outings and trialed like a horse who will be going through the grades this campaign. SUPERSTORM will have a large following with Pike back aboard. Is green and raw and clearly has no idea what racing is about. When the penny drops he’ll make a very nice animal. OUR IDYLL won well last start. VERDANDI is consistent. Numbers: 1 – 11 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – INDOMINOUS WIN Race 6 MOSSERATTI has not won a race in over 1000 days but this is excellent placement by Cliff Green. 34 of his last 35 runs have been in higher grade than this and he should take up a nice position one out and two back for an in form Steve Parnham. This looks his race to break back into the winner’s circle. TWENTYTHREE RED has promised to make a Saturday stayer for a long while but he is his own worst enemy, over racing and getting extremely hot and bothered before his races. Blinkers on first time and strong effort behind subsequent winner Proxy last time out. PERSISTENCE TIME is a big winning hope if he backs up from Saturday. BUCKTORIO next best. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – MOSSERATTI WIN Race 7 MASTER PEARL was disappointing last time out but was caught in an awkward position in a funnily run race dominated from the front. He naturally settles off speed and should be able to wind up three deep into the race. ROSIE RED DRESS was super first-up for a new stable. Should settle in a near identical position and give another big sight. MR KUNAFA held off a smart animal in his maiden win and should be there for a long way. KIA ORA STAR is bursting to win a race but finds trouble week in, week out. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – MASTER PEARL EACHWAY Race 8 TUSCAN QUEEN faces her acid test after bypassing the early 3 year old features to race against the older horses. Was niggled at a fair way from home last start and finished extremely powerfully. Looks like a 1400-1600 filly and she should take a stack of beating. KAY CEE is more than capable of proving her equal. First-up run against the track pattern, against the speed set was nothing short of enormous. MISS WEST COAST deserves a bit of luck in a feature. PLATINUM BULLET is better than she showed last start. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – TUSCAN QUEEN WIN Race 9 NOT TO BE MIST was the winner of his first three before suffering defeat. His first-up run was remarkable. The leaders went 14L below average for the first 600 and from there he was statically impossible. To flash and get within 0.5L was massive. CRYPTIC LOVE backs up off 3 days, drops in grade, draws a gate and hopefully has the services of an emerging apprentice. Kristy Bennett had a small tumble at Mt Barker Sunday but if she is able to fulfil her rides should give this a big shake. VELAGO is an enigma. He could lead, he could be last, he could be 5 deep the trip. Has the ability but has quirks. DICKOLETTO trialed really well in a slick 950 at Lark Hill. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – NOT TO BE MIST WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,3,9 1,2,3,4,7,10 4,7 1,3,4,7 Market Market
