Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on August 3, 2022August 3, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 UNION JACK finished third behind Paddy’s Lad and Diamond Command at 1400m two starts ago. That’s excellent form for a 1300m maiden. Dropped back to 1200m last start and was held up at various stages. Better suited in this and should go well. SUNPLAY was a surprise leader last start but kept kicking late when finishing second behind Kevlinater. Kelvinater finished third behind It’s All A Rumour and El Patron on the weekend in a 2 year old 1300m SWP Saturday event and Sunplay falls back into a maiden. Should go well again if reproducing the run. BOOZEROO was popular in betting last start but the jury is still out on whether he’s getting through the conditions. BONNIE LAD is a bit of an awkward mover. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – UNION JACK WIN RACE 2 CASH AWAY definitely has above average ability. Clearly has a few little issues with the barriers but if Misty Bazeley can iron those out then he should be a nice money spinner for her in the next few months. Winner down the 1000m straight is a huge plus and after the Holly Watson claim has only 55kg. OUR BOY DYLAN is well placed by Neville Parker. Last start 0MWLY 60+ winner at Ascot and a winner previously down the straight course. FIRST LAW is double nominated in case Belmont gets washed out. Clever CANTO DE GUERRA should find the front. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – CASH AWAY WIN RACE 3 THE DOMINICAN looks a real work in progress for Michael Morton but looks to have real upside and natural staying ability. Think he’ll only get better with experience and ultimately over further ground but this looks really winnable. Finished second behind Romancing The Rock last start after finding traffic turning for home. Kept out of trouble can get over these. ARROW SONG continues to savage the line. The barrier is a bit tricky but she has a turn of acceleration. ROYAL ELITE got going late on debut. Down to only 53.5kg is worth consideration. BLACKHEATH BELLE loomed like the winner behind Idle Star and just blew out late. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 11 – 10 Suggested Bet – THE DOMINICAN WIN RACE 4 QUEEN’S GIFT lead them up in a 3 year old 62+ Saturday at her return to racing and gave a handy kick at the top of the straight. Won’t see any Magnificent Andy, Mahaelo, Nero King, Colossal, Seduce Me types in this. MR MEGSEY has ability but may need a touch further. BENEATH THE COVERS was able to find the front first-up for Trevor Andrews and finished second to Bird’s The Word. Looked to get through the conditions well enough. RIVERTY wasn’t disgraced at trials behind two who are probably better than what she meets here. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 8 – 12 Suggested Bet – QUEEN’S GIFT WIN RACE 5 BRIGUIER won a Belmont Park trial leading into her debut and went around an $18 chance when working and racing wide throughout and still finishing a strong second behind He’sgotwings. He’sgotwings goes round in a C1 at Belmont on Wednesday and if they race we’ll get a good insight into the strength of that form. Think it’ll hold up. Barrier the concern. MISS INTENTION finished third in the same race and should get a similar run. BLUE EYED GIRL found the front and cruised into the corner. She’s a free rolling type who will pinch one eventually. RIG A DIG is first-up 1400 and should be strong at the finish. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – BRIGUIER WIN RACE 6 CURRIMUNDI was a super trial under Shaun McGruddy at Lark Hill when getting over Shake Baby Shake late. Went first-up into a 3 year old 0MWLY and had a few things go wrong in the home straight finishing fourth behind Simple Logic, Desert Vixen and Arcadia Grace. Back into a C1 and Shaun McGruddy back on. RISKY LYRICS comes through the same race and was arguably a better run. Looks to have come back a better horse than just a Mt Barker maiden winner. IDLE STAR travelled super through the wet conditions first-up when winning. VITAI LAMPADA was climbing over the back of them last start. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – CURRIMUNDI WIN RACE 7 STYLAX almost caused chaos at the top of the straight last start when Taj Dyson tried to get him moving and into open space. Far better drawn here, should settle at least three or four pairs closer in the run and is more than capable in this grade. Looks a nice race for him. TRULY RELIABLE pulled off a plunge first-up when dropping back into a C3. Ray Vincent follows the same path here, back to a C3 and blinkers on. ROMANCING THE ROCK is clearly a work in progress still. Paul Harvey riding him over Positive Impact is telling. DANCE OF THE SOUTH bolted in last start. Interesting to note that Rawiller takes over. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – STYLAX EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,5,7,8,12 2,5,6,7,11 2,4 1,2,4,6,9 Market Market
