Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on March 11, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 DIGNITY BAY rans some good races when last in work, including a second to stakes winner Creative Hero and in the previous preparation a second to Free Trade. Stood in the gates first-up and has since trialed (again) particularly well. UNCANNY TIMING has run three consecutive placings at all starts this preparation. Most recent form behind Son of A God and He’s All Mighty should prove super strong. LIES ‘N’ DECEPTION draws a far better gate than last start. MIND TRICKS ran well enough on debut. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – DIGNITY BAY WIN Race 2 DRAMA FREE drops into a maiden for the first time in his life. Only three starts ago in a 3yo handicap he beat home Guesteen and finished second to Rangeview Stud Classic and Lex Piper Stakes winner Money Matters. Puts in anywhere near that kind of run and he’s hard to beat. ALFREDO and GRUMIO come from the same Belmont Park trial and both were encouraging efforts. STARTRADE caught the eye behind Block of Land who looks to have a bit of ability. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 10 – 11 Suggested Bet – DRAMA FREE WIN Race 3 JAY DEE has run some handy races and been getting under the guard. Three starts ago lead them up from a wide gate and was beaten just over a length at 100-1 and then again two starts ago beaten 2L at 100-1. Last effort was the best yet when third to Miss Dominican and Dynamic Force. Weak weak maiden and she gets her chance. DESIGNER PRINCE has had 32 chances to break maiden status but returned well. HARD TO CEE has had 35 cracks but racing consistently. ITERRA ran alright in a slow race on debut. Draws a gate and shades go on. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 2 – 11 Suggested Bet – JAY DEE WIN Race 4 MERCY PREVAILS was set alight mid race first-up and actually ran really well all things considered. Draws a sticky gate but if she can improve slightly from the fresh run should go well. TIME STARTS NOW caught the eye on debut and should only improve out in trip. PASARAN went round at huge odds on debut but hit the line powerfully. WORTH THE RISK draws awkwardly but probably comes from the strongest form race. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 8 – 12 Suggested Bet – MERCY PREVAILS WIN Race 5 NAVY BLUE should be able to leave cleanly and find the front for Ben Paterson. Big Banj has started to ride some winners again and no reason he can’t lead all the way over the 2300. Real one paced type who should give a strong account from the top. VOLKSWAGON FRANK looks like going through the staying grades and is rock hard fit. UNENDING continues to promise to win one and will do soon. PATCHIRAC was the target of smart money last start and ran a ripper. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – NAVY BLUE WIN Race 6 SEA WAIF has been getting better and better with every start and Brett Pope’s yard seems to have finally turned a corner after a frustrating run for Pinjarra’s flag bearing trainer. She should lead or box seat in this field and gets every chance. WESTERNIZE made a mess of them at Esperance but anything in this field would have. THE HONEYMAN raced on speed last start against his usual pattern and won well. LUKE’S CHOICE is as consistent as they come. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – SEA WAIF WIN Race 7 THUNDER BOOM was three deep the trip no cover first-up at a mile at Albany and beat home classy filly Mood Goddess. She was then backed from $4.60 into $2.60 last Wednesday and was seemingly run off her feet. Can bounce back here in a weaker race than she was in 8 days ago. COCKY DODD is an enigma. His best is great, his worst is horrid. Pateman back on could be key. GEOGRAPHE BAY is continuing to race well and gets a great opportunity here but draws sticky. DELANEY is more than capable. Must for exotic players. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – THUNDER BOOM WIN Race 8 RESISTANCE has been super all preparation. First-up ran on hard behind Maschino Miss and Tawny Pete, second-up held up the entire length behind Coming Around, third-up ran second to Flower of War in the Pearl Classic and last start charged home from an impossible position on the corner. From the gate can settle closer and with the anticipated scratching of Truly Great looks to have found her race. HENTY GAL on the quick back-up from the gun draw is an obvious danger. BURNING MAGIC is double nominated and better suited here. SCENIC JOURNEY continues to loom. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – RESISTANCE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,4,6 1,2,4,5,7 1,2,3,4,5 4 Market Market
